The best place ever ?

This is not a Georgian restaurant as we thought, they just have some georgian dishes. Decor is like an old bar. With lots of hand written notes on the walls left by customers. It would be a neat thing to have, if there weren't so many nasty phrases left in Russian and Ukrainian. Overall food is good

One of the best restaurants in San Diego. I recommend the salad sampler platter, borscht, the cheese egg bread thing, and the stroganoff!
Parking: Parking is impossible like much of North Park

You know why I came. I came for Adjaruli khachapuri. I’ve had it in NYC (2011,2012,2019) Toronto (2024), and here. This one was so fresh and the bread so fluffy. Too good for my existence
Wonderful place for comfort food.

This place was amazing.... Everything we tried was next level. Fresh, quality ingredients, and food portion size. Our waiter was extremely helpful and explained the different dishes and how the wine process is different.
The only downside is finding parking in the area.
Will definitely be back!

Had a mixed experience at Pomegranate Georgian Restaurant. While it’s advertised as a Georgian spot, they serve some unexpected dishes like Ukrainian borscht. The walls are filled with messages and drawings from previous visitors, which adds a fun, interactive element to the atmosphere—you can even leave your own note or doodle for others to see!
The food was a bit hit or miss. The Khachapuri was delicious, and most of the dishes I tried were tasty, as seen in my video. However, my friends and I were disappointed by the chicken dumplings and beef stroganoff, which didn’t quite hit the mark. The khinkali only come with a mixed beef and pork filling, which was also disappointing. It would be great if they added more options, like cheese with mushrooms or a pure beef filling for those who don’t eat pork. The menu lacks beef kebabs as well, with only lamb or pork available.
Overall, the average check is around $50 per person. While some dishes were great, there is definitely room for improvement, especially in expanding the menu options to cater to different preferences.
The air conditioning wasn’t working, and it was extremely stuffy inside, making it difficult to stay for long. The fans didn’t help much with the heat, and it became quite uncomfortable.

Food was excellent, service was just OK, so noisy you could barely talk across the table. Parking is also a nightmare, would not go back.
Parking: No parking lot, good luck finding a place to park. Had to park at a meter and walk a block.

I loved everything about this restaurant. Some of the best food I've ever had. The Borsht was amazing with big chunks of beef. The imported pear soda was divine. The pierogi were soft little pillows of perfect potato. And the special of the day, Khinkali, were the most phenomenal soup dumplings I've ever had, served with a tzatziki style sauce. Also the honey layer cake is worth finishing your meal with! I look forward to returning to this place.

Visited on a Sunday evening. Got there before the crowd.
Ordered several appetizers (salad sampler and cheese bread) which were amazing.
The only issue was the vegetarian stroganoff tasted like they took the beef recipe and simply deducted the meat.

As a Chinese brother of yours I am very disappointed of what this comrade has came up with, cilantro and tomato in Khachapuri? Why not put durian in Pelmeni while you are at it?

Great ajaruli pie but other food was okay. The service was terrible and the waiter looked disinterested and the atmosphere does not match cost of food.

I walk by this place often and wanted to try it. Waiter was horrible from the very beginning. Walked up to table a minute after we were sat and don’t introduce himself and asked “What can I get you.” We said we needed more time to look at the menu. He leaves and doesn’t return for 20 min. I asked my friend “Where’d our server go.” She says “he’s sitting down at the table behind you” Literally sitting and having a full blown conversation while we’re waiting for 20 min. When he finally comes back, he lets us know he has no time to make us the cocktails we asked for. At this point im already dissatisfied with the service, so I just want to try the food and leave. I tell him we’ll just have water and asked him for recommendations. He asked us to hold for one minute and rushes away for another 5 min. When he finally comes back im just ready to go already. I order 2 items quickly. He then back tracks saying now he has time to make drinks. We pass on that. He asked multiple time if we wanted drinks even after we said no. Food was ok. Nothing great
The icing on the cake is the waiter tossing the check on the table in a very rude manner. Not even a thank you for dining with the restaurant. Most likely will not be going back.
