Corner bakery and coffeehouse "Pop Pie - University Heights" is serving a diverse array of pies (savory and sweet) and drinks in a cozy, airy, open atmosphere. SERVICE Order and pickup food at counter, get reusable utensils at the back corner next to the water station, which is also adjacent to where you place reusable trays. FOOD 4/5 Green Hog Pie: A pre-baked pulled pork version of chili verde stuffed in a ~5" diameter pie pastry. Good flavor although I wish the pork were more tender and the pastry was more flaky versus soppy. 3/5 Half-half side of creamed corn and mashed potatoes gravy

Tried Pop Pie Co for the first time on Pi Day and I have no clue why I waited so long! I picked up the frozen pies so that I could bake them later in the day and everything was incredible. Pie crust was perfection! I will be back again and again!!

We were on our way to get ice cream next door when we walked past Pop Pie and saw a massive line out the door. We got our ice cream and then got in line to check out the hype at Pop Pie. We ordered 1 Aussie meat pie and 1 green hog pie and ate them about 1 hour later. We really wanted to like Pop Pie, but our pies fell short of our expectations. The Aussie meat pie was our favorite of the two, but we still found it to be a bit lacking in flavor. The green hog pie was really dry. We liked the pie crust on both, but the fillings missed the mark. Both pies cost us upwards of $20, which isn't exactly cheap.

This place is phenomenal. It's one of my all time favorite spots in San Diego. I love the Aussie Meat Pie. Make sure to get the 1/2 mashed & 1/2 corn as the side. You can sit inside or outside. There's a great ice cream spot next door. Only downside is that parking is pretty tough. Also, they've gone up on their prices. The side is now $4 so $17 for a meal, drink not included. You go up to place your order and leave a tip before even receiving your food. For this style of dining I just find the prices to be quite high. Besides that, the food is phenomenal.

It's a really cute spot! The service was really good. They were quick and friendly. The pies themselves were delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Excellent food, excellent service. Very big chunks of chicken in the pot pie. Gotta try the steak next time.

Literally so delicious, they have successfully made me a key lime pie convert. The chicken pot pie tastes homemade. Highly recommend taking them to go and pairing them with some sun.

I've purchased pies here many times. A family favorite. I'm a fan of their chicken pies which are full of chicken and have a marvelous flaky crust. The same pies are available frozen and when heated are far better than anything store bought. Love this place.

Living near this amazing place was dangerous for my waistline. Because everything I ever ordered there was amazingly delicious. Like, the kale salad. Who can ever genuinely say, "I like kale salad"? But, yes, even on it's own it's delicious but pared with a savory chicken pot pie? Outstanding. Don't even get me started on their amazing key lime pie.

Delicious as usual! My favorite comfort food on a rainy day. Chicken pot pie is a good classic, but my favorite is the veggie yellow curry pie. It has no meat BUT it's absolutely delicious. Mmm mmm mmmmm.

A serious guilty pleasure kind of joint! But you don't feel so guilty because the warmth of the pie keeps you satisfied for a long while. The coconut pie with ube ice cream was my favorite. The vegetarian pot pie was really good too!

The reps were very informative and welcoming. The place was clean. Very unique spot serving both savory pot pies and an undefeated in its own right, selections of ice creams. The piescream - warm apple pie w/ scoops of vanilla ice cream was super delicious. A now favorite of mine. They made me a fan of cherry pie, their cherry crumble pie was yummy, I took a slice home for later lol

I used to like this place but it's kinda gone downhill and not as good as it usually is. I love the kale salad and key lime pie and like the sausage dog and chicken pot pie. I love dogs, just not inside a restaurant where they are by the food and drink prep area. I keep my dog outside the entire time... there is a patio for that and San Diego usually has perfect weather for outdoor dining. Last I checked, only service animals are allowed inside an eating establishment. I just find it unhygienic and entitled for people to do so otherwise, especially big dogs. I also think that's a health code violation? There were 2 dogs inside the restaurant at the same time I was trying to enjoy my food. I asked what their policy was on animals but barista didn't seem to have a problem with non-service dogs in a restaurant. I get it, they probably don't care or don't want any confrontation with entitled dog owners. This is becoming more common and I guess I just won't frequent this establishment anymore. Again, I love dogs, just not dog dander or dog hair in my food when they shake themselves. Let alone anything else unpredictable they might do while I'm trying to enjoy a nice meal. Lastly, Pop Pie Co used to have a cute sign on the door saying that dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant, which I took a photo of on 9/24/22 because I respected that they had that. This last visit the sign was not there. I may be barking up the wrong tree here but just wanted to vent my frustrations somewhere. At this point, I'd rather go to The Chicken Pie Shop, Sunny Boy Biscuits or Bhan Thai if I'm in University Heights....

I can't say that I've actually eaten here because I ordered delivery. I was craving some apple pie and OMG this place did not disappoint. I could've eaten about 2-3 of these slices. The pie was delicious. The crust was perfect, the apples, and the caramel drizzle. Mmmmm. Definitely going to order more from this place!! I honestly devoured it before I even thought to write a review.
