We usually go to the Point Loma location but randomly popped into Pacific Beach … the ice cream is always amazing but today what prompted me to finally write a review years later is simply because Kalay (spelling ?) was such an exceptional, outstanding, incredibly friendly host/worker! Thank you!!!
As I’m sure the owners know, the best chance of customers returning is not only the product, but genuinely welcoming friendly service! Finding and retaining naturally talented staff can be tricky… If we had a guest service business, we would definitely try to hire her! 😅😁

I've been a regular for a couple years, and have enjoyed the food and service every time! I'm really fond of the Green Hog and Cheese and Aussie Meat Pies, which you can eat there or buy frozen to bake at home. Their cortado, matcha horchata, and hojicha latte drinks are also delicious!

So glad that we found this place!! After eating out all week going to a place like this is the perfect spot, like a home cooked meal at grandmas. We had the chicken pot pies and kale coleslaw. So perfect!

The food was so good! The lady helping us was so bubbly and kind. Highly recommend the classic chicken pot pie, the sausage roll was very meaty, and the apple pie slice was perfectly sweet and cinnamon-y. The scoop of vanilla ice cream was great too, will have to come back to try the other flavors!

Had the boss breakfast pie. Hashbrowns on top so stale I almost chipped a tooth and couldn’t even bite into them. Crust was also really underbaked. Even with hot sauce was inedible and couldn’t pick anything good out. Coffee wasn’t bad. Disappointed because it looked really good.

I’ve been going to Pop Pie since the first location opened in San Diego. I’ve been a fan and have never really had a problem. I used to go to the north park location where a guy Guillermo worked and honestly, I had always had amazing service. That was up until last night, at around 7:40 I went into this pop pie location on 7/16/24. Oh my god, we were a small group of 4 as we walk in, this girl is doing her lipstick infront of the espresso machine?? She doesn’t acknowledge us or ask us anything until I ask “do you do samples?” She proceeds to say yes, gives me a sample as my boyfriend and his friend are talking. Then she goes over my head as she is putting her fat oil lip gloss on and asks them “are you guys even getting anything” and my boyfriend kindly replies “no we’re all together” then she says “okay well you can all order in one what do you want.”
My friend and I were so shocked that we left. I’ve never experienced such rude, disrespectful and terrible customer service at this location or any location before. Someone needs to talk to this and let her know to change her attitude, and tell her to do her makeup before she comes into work.
