The Prado restaurant provides a lovely dining experience with a delightful Date Night menu featuring delicious options like Arugula Salad, Pork Prime Rib, and Pan-Seared Sea Bass. The restaurant boasts a beautiful ambiance and outdoor seating with umbrellas, allowing guests to enjoy meals in perfect weather. The food is consistently praised for its quality and flavor, making it a popular choice for special occasions, before heading to a show at the Old Globe theater, or for a relaxing lunch between visits to local museums. Guests particularly enjoy the beautiful location in Balboa Park, with outdoor seating that creates a romantic atmosphere. The restaurant features a lovely inner courtyard, perfect for enjoying wonderful bottomless mimosas and delicious brunch. The buffet offers a variety of dishes such as smoked salmon, tender beef short ribs, pastries, scrambled eggs, cinnamon French toast, bacon, sausage, salads, and fruits. The service is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff, and the champagne flowing freely. Visitors often note the fun atmosphere and tasty meals like Mahi Mahi sandwiches and Chicken Caesar Salad. While the view and garden add to the charm, some have mentioned a sewage odor on the west end of the outdoor patio that has persisted for years, making that area less desirable for dining. Overall, the combination of excellent food, great service, and the beautiful setting make Prado one of the favorites in San Diego. The restaurant is especially enjoyed during Tuesday Night Date Night, which offers a wonderful experience of both the food and ambiance, often enhanced by attentive servers like Scott.
