The Restaurant Week prix fixe menu was excellent. We all enjoyed our starters as well as our entrees.

It was a very nice experience just had lunch with some friends and it was just a nice place to come to with the park setting and good food. And restaurant week made it an easier choice.

This restaurant has the whole package. Exceptional service, fun environment, and fabulous food. The quality of the food is excellent and the presentation just beautiful. Highly recommend it.

My two daughters and I had a lovely dinner to celebrate my 70th birthday! I had the sea bass, oldest daughter had salmon, youngest had the tequila shrimp and bucatini for our main course. We shared appetizers that included the beet salad, potstickers, and ahi tuna sushi as we enjoyed pre dinner cocktails of sangria, a traditional martini, and a guava ginger martini. Great wine list (white w/our seafood). The staff also presented a birthday dessert. Always my favorite 5star restaurant!

This is one of our favorite Cohn restaurant locations simply because it has wonderful colorful glass on display and is located in Balboa park. We enjoy browsing through museums or going to the zoo or theater making the Prado a desirable spot for dinner (or sometimes lunch). Their beef sushi is delicious as is the short rib dish. Other dishes can be a hit or miss but usually is okay. Their prices have gone up and the crackers and dip (that was served gratis years ago) is now another appetizer item. The beef sushi is wonderful, the mashed potatoes served with the ribs is watery now, so that was unfortunate. We will still go there but wish some of the previous chicken dishes were still available. The cauliflower appetizer was good a couple of weeks ago, but this time it was way too spicy, however the ribs which were scant and full of fatty tissue and little meat last time were this time much improved, so we were happy to see that improvement. We will be back and having been coming here for years.

Food I chose based on prior visits was very disappointing! Hardly any figs, nuts or cheese or strawberries in my salad and only a few small cubes of chicken added at an additional charge. The salad was not up to its usual standards and the figs were very dry and had little flavor. I will not order this salad again!

I dined alone so I only tried one dish - the shrimp soba noodle salad. It was a good balance of veggies and noodles with simple poached shrimp. I'm from TX so could've used some more spice on the shrimp. Winston was a great server during a busy time. Value is not wonderful, but you're within the park so what can you expect? There are 2 patios. I sat facing the inner courtyard in the shade and liked it. There is also a sunnier patio on the backside of the building that seemed lively and fun. Overall a nice experience and I would go back.

There is no longer a valet parking. We must pay $10 for 4 hrs at Balboa. The service was slow. The appetizer came in at the same time as the food 40 mins after we sat down. The Prado sadly has gone down in service & quality of food

As a local and native San Diegan, I hadn't visited The Prado in Balboa Park for a meal in over 25+ years and I must say, it was an absolutely wonderful time. I was with a dear friend celebrating their 63rd birthday that afternoon and won't forget the memorable time we shared at The Prado in Balboa Park. I sure missed this place and will be back!

The perfect place to have dinner in San Diego! The sea bass was delicious and the Pinot Grigio was high quality

This restaurant was a fantastic choice for a birthday dinner. The quality of the food was very good. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Both the indoor and outdoor eating areas are very relaxing and well decorated. The service, while not overly attentive, was still good. As a special birthday surprise the waiter gave us a nice order of flan with berries that was delicious. To top it off they brought us a birthday card signed by the whole team. Nice touch. Overall, a terrific experience and I would definitely go again.

This is gotta be the most overpriced restaurant I have ever been to the prime rib was well done all in all not worth the money

Way too expensive for the preset Christmas menu. The main courses were not good at all, even the mash potatoes tasted pretty bad. The flavor in the sauce did not go well with the prime ribs at all. The only enjoyable part was the dessert, pretty sad.

The service is great, and the patio seating has a nice ambiance. The Prado Paella and Seared Prime Beef Sushi Roll are superb.
2nd visit at The Prado, 12/20/2025. The place was clean and the staff were very nice and welcoming. Again, I ordered my favorite the Paella. It was delicious and flavorful. The Grinch mascot came out to entertain the kids and have pictures with the guests. I highly recommend The Prado in Balboa Park.
