I had not been to the Pearl for about five years. Love the vibe of the place. the menu was very limited at dinner and i don't mind paying $30-$40 for an entrée if it's really good. The food was OK. Would definitely not recommend the spicy tuna sandwich. Really had more of a feel of a tuna melt and I'm guessing made from Can tuna. kind of gooey with too much sauce. my dining mate had the beef Ragu pasta. Said it was OK. Should be more than OK for $33. Service was good but place was only about 25% full and it took too long to get drinks. For these dollars there are so many better options in San Diego.

Everything here was amazing. We had stayed at the Pearl and were eager to get a happy hour in. The plating was gorgeous, the food innovative and perfectly executed. I have worked in five diamond dining for years and this exceeded my expectations. When I visit San Diego, I am coming back. Happy hour drinks and oysters are a must!! We fought over the last bite of Shisto peppers and their superb elote.

Dynamic atmosphere. Luv the fact that show classic movies at the pool.

The drinks were good, but they were out of so many items listed on the menu for food. The shoshito peppers were insanely hot, couldn’t even eat them. I am a vegetarian and they were out of every single vegetarian option available.

I visited the Pearl/Charles + Dinorah specifically for "Dive-in Movie Night" that they host on Wednesdays. Despite having hosted this event many times, the movie sound was not working so we couldn't even watch the movie. After 20 minutes of the staff attempting to fix the audio, we decided to pay for our overpriced bottle of wine and leave. As other customers grew angry, they voiced how bad their food was, but no attempt was made to rectify the situation. I did reach out to the hotel afterwards to tell them what happened but they did not bother to send me a reply. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

I had the Caesars Salad asked for croutons and never got them. The salad lacked dressing as well. My guest had the Babaganosh was delicious! Used the bread for my salad. Note: Poolside, live music, which I didn't stay for but the sound check was great! Also the drink I ordered was pricey despite it being happy hour. Enjoyed the Margarita though.Wheelchair accessibility: Was quite easy to maneuver.

Well sad to say not a very good dinner. It was our ninth anniversary and we had celebrated our original wedding at the pearl. We rented out the entire hotel and all the rooms and it's been such a memorable place for us. We've come back a few times and it's been always good but last night was terrible. We barely got service, they came to our table. I think twice I had to go to the bar to get our drinks. It was our anniversary as I mentioned and they didn't even offer us a free dessert or anything. It was such a letdown. The food was OK. The rice was kind of dry and nothing exciting , the calamari was delicious but everything else was just sort of mediocre. We were so sad and we had took it our kids with us too and they want very happy either and it was a $250 meal so I just expecting a lot more. They did say that they were very short staffed so I felt bad but honestly they could've done better.

Great little 1960s hotel with an old-school motel feel, kidney-shaped pool, wonderfully helpful staff and great little bar and restaurant that far exceeded expectations. This neatly renovated gem is a must see if you are in the mood for a throw-back experience with updated, quite pleasing rooms. The front desk is, literally, a small desk in the petite entry. There is a bartender who makes you feel like you've known him forever and a cute little "dive-in" movie nightly -- nostalgic movies and the BEST FOOD I've had at any hotel restaurant. EVER!!

The food and drinks were really good and I liked the ambiance, but the main bartender was really rude and spent more time being extremely mean to one of the (presumably new) waitresses and texting than she did attending to us in any way. Felt like we were bothering her the whole time. Would go back if she's not working!

The idea of this restaurant is great! I booked my Boyfriend and I a date night for their “Dive in Movie” night, which is a movie on the pool deck where you can eat drink and swim while enjoying the show! This is a great idea! It's the execution that was not the greatest. Towels are for hotel guests only so don't forget to bring yours from home which is silly given I am attending this event at a hotel with lots of pool towels... the food is mediocre, the crab dip was so salty it was almost inedible and the burger and chicken sandwich were just okay, definitely not worth the price tag. The service was good and the atmosphere was good but overall for the experience I would no go back. This has a lot of potential but just needs better execution.

We have gone to the Pearl on and off for 11 years. Tonight was the best yet! We sat Poolside. We had cocktails and Shishido peppers for appetizer. And we had the most delicious dinner ever. Pastrami short rib. OMG. Melt in your mouth and the risotto paired perfectly as well as the cornishon garnish. They have the Australian Shiraz/cab blend. I swear it was the best dinner I’ve ever had, and I am very particular. For dessert we had the tiramisu with the espresso martinis, the tiramisu was smooth with a crunch topping. Best birthday ever! Shout out to Courtney, the bartender, and Dale, our server. Great drinks great service, exceptional food” and happy birthday to me! Definitely make it your next go to place. A hidden gem in Point Loma.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp

Burger was good. Service was horrible. Zero interaction with the bartender other than taking a drink order and then taking my payment. Didn't even give her name. She had zero interest in checking in to see if i wanted anything else or even if what I ordered was as expected. Felt like being there was an annoyance to her. Disappointing considering I am a guest here and wanted an easy dinner and drinks on an otherwise slow evening.

Haven't been to “The Pearl” in many years but I'm happy to report that it remained the same “hidden gem” it used to be. Perfect drinks, a small but very nice selection of excellently prepared food and a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance.
