I haven't been to Round Table Pizza for years. I was really disappointed about the quality of the pizza and the high price. This will probably be the last time I eat here. Very sad because I use to love it.

Round Table Pizza in Rancho Bernardo has been my local pizza spot since moving here a couple of years ago, mainly because I’ve always favored their high-quality ingredients and premium pizza. However, the poor customer service from the manager/owner Ali has made recent experiences very disappointing.

On a couple of occasions, they messed up my pizza. The first time, they forgot the pepperoni and mini pepperoni. I called back and the then-manager apologized and credited my account for a free pizza. The next order was correct, so I thought that was it. But then they completely got my pizza wrong a second time — instead of the chicken and garlic gourmet, I received a veggie delight. When I called again, the manager said I had a credit for a pizza and could order whatever I wanted to compensate for the inconvenience. Important to note, there was no mention I had to reorder the pizza exactly the same way, or that I'd be charged for additional toppings.

Today, I called and spoke with Eric. He confirmed I had a pizza credit on my account. I ordered a pizza similar to what I wanted before, but this time added double pepperoni and onions. Eric said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, so I left right at the 15-minute mark since it takes about 5 minutes to get there. While I was driving, I got a call from Ali, the manager/owner. He told me that I’d ordered too many extra toppings and that I’d have to pay for the extras, otherwise he would make the pizza how I ordered it originally. This turned me from a happy customer into a very frustrated one. I told him I’d talk to him when I arrived, but now instead of having my pizza ready upon arrival, I had to wait for them to remake it based on his decisions.

Nobody told me the remake pizza credit had conditions. It made the owner look so cheap, that he was willing to lose a loyal customer over two extra toppings. He even tried to argue that since my original order was on a 50% off Monday deal, the value of that pizza isn’t the same as ordering it full price now—and that this mattered, which it absolutely shouldn’t.

I told him to just make the pizza the way I originally ordered it. After Ali left, the front cashier Barron, a high school kid, apologized profusely and even offered me a drink while I waited for my pizza. Honestly, even a high schooler has better customer service skills than this adult manager. Pathetic.

Yelp has this Round Table Pizza location rated with 3 stars, which makes sense. It clearly survives based on the quality of the pizza, but definitely not on the poor customer service of the owner.

We ordered a stuffed crust pizza and dough was not cooked enough! Every other crust good, new stuff crust no good.

I used to live here back in the mid to late 80's and used to come here and loved everything about it and I still compare pizza places to you guys and I have lived in Missouri since '89! They do have great pizza here but your whole package of pizza and the environment and everything is still the best place and I'll never forget this cool ass restaurant.

Really great recipe and location but the staff and management needs review. The manager with the dark split wave hair style is very cringe, He he shows no emotion which creeps me my kids out, the beer is WARM, mind you it's open tap but thats no good the glasses ate dirty, filthy and warm on the shelf, location like this should have cold glasses for every beer. Overall it's a 2 out 10. Get better staff and waiters and it could be a 7 to 8 spot but these cringe staff members are really holding this location back.

It's a very nice place to have lunch, chat with good,old friends! The food are fresh,nice quality and the pizza are fresh baked! Very yummy!

They are very slow, waiting 30 min for pizza.
