My to go pickup order was aweful. The salad had no salsa and no cheese as described and then to top it off the chips were stale. I tried to call and no one will answer any more. I would have taken it back for a refund but I am on lunch and gas is so expensive. The place has really gone down. I rarely go there any more and after today I will not return to be ripped off. You got but in te long run you will lose more than some salsa and cheese.

"Fresh Flavors and Friendly Faces at Rubio's Coastal Grill"A must visit when you are in San Diego. My visit to Rubio's Coastal Grill was a delightful dive into coastal cuisine, highlighted by an array of fresh and flavorful dishes. The blackened mahi-mahi fish tacos stood out with their perfect blend of spices and freshness, while the mangosteen lobster quinoa bowl was both satisfying and bursting with flavor. Additionally, the steak quesadillas were a delicious surprise, proving that Rubio's does more than just great seafood. The side of chips complemented by a variety of salsa and avocado options added a wonderful touch to the meal, elevating the dining experience with each dip.The friendly staff at Rubio's made the visit all the more enjoyable. Their warm welcome and attentive service contributed to a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Finding parking was a breeze, especially at night, adding to the convenience of the dining experience. The restaurant's cleanliness was commendable, with well-maintained dining areas that invited you to settle in and savor your meal. However, the requirement of a code to access the bathrooms, which were a bit messy during my visit, was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise stellar experience. In summary, Rubio's Coastal Grill offers a fresh take on coastal cuisine with its delicious menu options, friendly service, and comfortable ambiance. Whether you're craving fish tacos or a hearty bowl, Rubio's promises a satisfying meal that captures the essence of the coast. Just be prepared to navigate the bathroom access, and you're set for a fantastic dining experience.

Had chicken, fish, and steak tacos. The chicken tacos were the best, and just $2.50 each (on Tuesday) a great deal.It would be nice to have a larger dining space. The staff was friendly, efficient and fast, and the self-service soda fountain was great.

We ordered 2 of the Taco Deluxe Packages to cater our company dinner for a specific time frame (5:30pm - 5:45pm). The food arrived on time but was COLD and was missing two of the different types of salsa dips we ordered.

The dirtiest Rubio's I've ever been too... salsa bar was disgusting and messy looked like it hadn't been changed all day! Floor mat looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week... it smelt bad and just looked very very dirty! You could smell it! Took forever to get my food too! 15+ mins and there was no one else there getting food. Ridiculous! Update: got my food & it wasn't right. My 2 original fish tacos were both soooooo spicy! My mouth was on fire after eating them! So I go for the beans thinking it will smooth me and that is sooooooo spicy too! I definitely ordered original 2 taco plate... so this makes no sense. I am supper disappointed and I will never go back here!

The service here is TERRIBLE. I used to go in my lunch break, but lately end up waiting most of my break just trying to place an order. Then the food takes forever. They prioritize online orders over customers in the restaurant. Don't bother.

The fish tacos were mostly batter and had barely any fish. The serving size for the rice and beans was laughable. A small salsa size container for rice and beans. Not to mention it was bland!! Rice was plain white rice and beans were black with no seasoning. The fish tacos had a nasty oily taste and had barely any fish. The service was sub par. The cashier was rude. Food was legit nasty and unseasoned
