Rubio's Coastal Grill

Rubio’s on Clairemont Mesa Blvd in San Diego had some standout flavors. The rainbow shrimp salad and tacos had a delicious pineapple twist in the sauce that really worked. The chicken soup was well balanced and the shrimp tacos hit the mark. Friendly service too.

Taco Tuesday has the best deals on thus SoCal classic!

I paid $4 extra to have steak put into my shrimp burrito just to get home and find NO steak on my burrito! They even called out the correct order. Rubio’s owes me a new burrito!

Rubios is a really good restaurant

Had fish tacos especial. It's always nice to bite into crunchy fish on a warm corn tortilla with cabbage, cheese, guacamole, and white cream sauce. The restaurant is generally clean, with the exception of bathroom floor corners.

The manager was gracious and patient as I asked about my various choices. I have a food allergy. It was also my first time at a Rubio’s.

I’ve had some great tacos in three countries. These are the best.

I tried the Diablo sauce. Some Diablo sauces are designed to put you in the hospital. This was hot. Very hot. But it had great flavor. I asked if they sold it by the bottle. Sadly, no. I made puppy dog eyes and asked whether he’d sell a small take out cup of it. “One?” “Two!” He worked up a price for me. I wanted him to make a profit.

Rubio’s: You guys need to sell this stuff. There’s a market.

Great customer service

This is the kitchen for Rubio’s, the menu is different from the regular Rubio’s.

What a great experience the store was very clean the staff was super friendly and helpful they made sure I got exactly what I was craving for my snack before the long drive home after work the ingredients were very fresh and tasted very great. Expectations met! I will definitely be back while I'm in the area, and I would suggest stopping by.

I regularly frequent this Rubio's and I am always satisfied with my experience. The staff is super friendly and rarely if there is a problem with my order they solve it quickly. The store is clean and brightly lit with a nice outdoor space. I love the beer battered shrimp tacos here- highly recommend!

So far, every time I've ordered online for pickup, my order is missing sauces including the non-free ones like an extra white sauce for the fish tacos. Is this an issue with the website order process or are workers that careless about putting an order together?
