The coffee is quite bad. One star because it exists, one star because it was open, one star because it had coffee. That’s about it.

Such a cute little store!

My latte was bland, and the waiter made it in less than 30 seconds. I doubt it was a real latte.

Went to Rust today and was given a historical story of licorice as we had some free samples!
Ms. Lopez did so well and we have three baggies of the pretzel bites, cake licorice and butterscotch candies.
This is a store we always stop at in Old Town. Thank you!

Well maintained shop that lets you step back in time when people used to consume responsibly. They have a variety of candy, coffee, tea and herbs.

Located in the heart of 'Old Town San Diego State Historic Park' in the picnic area.
Rust General Store is a must stop for us when we visit. This lil store takes you back to the 1860's. You will find housewares and a bistro serving Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Lemonades, Pickle-on-a-Stick, Ice Cream Floats, Fresh Cookies, Pretzels, Popcorn, and so many more goodies that you can enjoy right outside. I love seeing the friendly staff in such era-themed outfits, so unique and fun.
They offer a Traditional Tea Service in their private garden on Saturday and Sundays at 2:30 PM by reservations.
I enjoy their Iced Vanilla Latte with a Pretzel. Their fresh lemonades are so refreshing and so so good!
Overall, it's always a good experience at Rust General.

They just opened up for “Tea Time” and it’s absolutely adorable! The decor, food, tea, desserts, service, and the whole venue are all wonderful. I had the best time visiting with my friends — we even saw another couple there on a date. What a perfect date idea!

The staff is so friendly and welcoming, all dressed in charming old-fashioned outfits. I loved how they even address each other by their last names, like “Miss Jones,” to keep you immersed in the period atmosphere.

Highly recommend — such a delightful experience! Better make a reservation, though — this place will surely be booking up fast!

A must stop every time I visit San Diego. Educational too. Just ask questions and engage the staff.

Rust General Store in Old Town San Diego is like stepping back in time! Located at 2720 Calhoun St., this charming shop is designed to replicate a 19th-century general store, complete with wooden shelves stocked with vintage-style goods. From unique historical items to specialty foods, every corner of the store feels curated with care. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, often sharing fun tidbits about the store's concept and the items they sell.
