Rust General Store in Old Town San Diego is like stepping back in time! Located at 2720 Calhoun St., this charming shop is designed to replicate a 19th-century general store, complete with wooden shelves stocked with vintage-style goods. From unique historical items to specialty foods, every corner of the store feels curated with care. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, often sharing fun tidbits about the store's concept and the items they sell.
Such a cute little spot in old town. Great coffee, friendly staff, also a good spot to find gifts ....and the candy mmmmmm
Great store with great prices!!
Staff is so friendly and helpful ?
Super cute
It’s a small shop run by a young couple. It’s nice to sit at the door and have a cup of coffee when you’re tired from walking?
It was nostalgic yes… But I feel like the store/guy behind the counter with black fingernail polish on? Charge me five dollars for a handful of licorice.. that’s just taking advantage of tourists. If I would’ve known it was five dollars I would’ve told him to keep it.
It is a peculiar place. At the end of the store, turn left and you will find a small bookstore full of amazing books for kids and cute souvenirs. I loved it!
Got sick after buying homemade lemonade here during Día de Muertos - ruined half of my vacation trip. Thanks for nothing.
Authentic music for better era recreation and wonderful staff!

Too expensive. This was 8 dollars.
Friendly staff.
Good stop for a break and a treat. Stopped in for a root beer for a treat for the little one, and the nice employees let him choose a piece of candy from the shelf for being on good behavior.
When visiting Old Town San Diego, the General store is must visit spot. It brings you back to the 1800's. It has wonderful products that adults & kids will like. I always get some candy there to eat while visiting the other historic sites around Old Town.
Coffee beans at the rust store are pretty good and the nostalgia of the old west and the margaritas are pretty good to
