I love this place. A family run business with a comfortable vibe and fantastic Thai food

Diners beware. My wife and I ordered delivery from this location and mid bite I found a piece of steel wool in my pad Thai. I do not like disparaging local businesses but they need to be more diligent regarding food safety.

I have always loved Sala Thai from the east coast for its delicious and perfect cooking of their food. But, my first time to order from this location in San Diego yesterday disappointed me. I ordered fried tofu and vegetable rolls. Food was half cooked - very disappointing. Seems cooking was rushed. Also, it was supposed to be a buy one, get one free promotion for the egg rolls order but only got one instead of two. No problem with Uber Eats delivery. The problem is the cooking ((half cooked food can easily make people sick) and also the promotion was ignored by the person preparing the food.

I’ve never left a review before, but I had this food experience on New Year’s Eve and strongly suggest you try it too.

I got take out. I told my wife this wasn't a good place. She insisted. A live roach was literally in one of our to go boxes. A LIVE ROACH. Never again. DO NOT EAT HERE.

Check this little place out! On the outside it looks very unassuming but inside the ambience is quite lovely! The food is really flavorful and not greasy at all. Great vegan options. Not just tofu but you can get just veggies, tofu, mock chicken and mock duck. The service is really personal. Its a small family establishment thats been around for 35 years. Its owned by a really sweet older lady and her son. He was very sweet and was talking with me about the place. He grew up in the restaurant basically and now helping to run it. How much more ā€œfamily owned businessā€ can you get?

Glad I stumbled into this little gem after going to a yoga class next door at yoga box. Its one of very few places open till 11pm.

I had the red curry with brown rice and a plain, clear vegetable soup. Really enjoyed my meal.

I had the summer rolls, shrimp wonton hot pot and mango sticky rice! All of it was really good and came out quickly. The peanut sauce with the summer rolls was really good and the hot pot had lots of wontons and a really yummy broth. The mango sticky rice was really good too, as the other reviews say lol. No pics unfortunately, but the plating was really cute and picture worthy!!

My family loves this restaurant. They are super friendly and the food is always delicious and fresh whether it be take-out or enjoyed at a table. We have been coming here for nearly 2 decades and they never disappoint!
Some of the best Thai food we've ever had. Curry, noodles, appetizers, soups; it's all delicious! Especially the Tom Kha and their panang curry with duck are my favorites.
Cannot recommend this place enough!

Can’t say much about atmosphere. But they do have delivery option through DoorDash and their Pad Thai is pretty good. They do have BOGO deal sometimes which is a nice perk.

Nicely renovated. Saw it on TikTok and wanted to try. Walked past and see it empty a lot, now I see why. I tried it today and I’m Not a fan of the food. Ordered the egg rolls and pineapple fried rice. Disappointed and not satisfied, everything just tasted like peanut butter. No flavor, egg rolls tasted like vegetables dipped in peanut butter sauce. Feels like I wasted 24$.

Absolutely amazing place. My favorite for Thai tea or a decently priced non fast food meal. Family owned and I swear these are the most friendly people I’ve met in my life. 100/10 recommend.

Amazing Thai spot! The pad thai and summer rolls were fresh and packed with flavor, and the Thai iced coffee was the perfect sweet finish. Our waiter, Christian, was so kind and even showed us his beautiful hand-painted picture of the King’s Palace — such a thoughtful touch. Fantastic food, warm service, and a truly memorable experience.

I am a student at SDSU and love the discount they offer!!! So close to campus and has great selection of food to try. Our server Christian is super friendly and nice to talk to. They recently remodeled the place and the ambience is very nice, dim lights and authentic feel. I LOOVE the thai coffee and pad thai. Definitely more I want to explore on the menu!!! CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
