LOVE this Mexican restaurant in Del Mar!! Tacos are amazing but so is the white fish ceviche, bone marrow and all the salsas with the guac. Everything is beautifully presented and service is super friendly. Also they have lots of gluten free and dairy free options! All the desserts are gluten free (churros are amazing)
Nice outdoor seating. Cute trendy vibes. Brought my 1 year old baby with some friends and they brought out a hair chair before we even sat down!

Service was gracious. Some of the worst tacos I've ever had. Even the side corn was off.

Terrible company to do business with. Time and effort was put in per our agreement. The company ghosted and ignored every attempt to finalize and reconcile their bill, even after heavy discount was given. Their online presence and issues with OpenTable and cancellation policy represents the epitome of "you get what you pay for." Do better as a business.
I searched for a restaurant since we were going to be in Del Mar for lunch. We definitely hit the jackpot. We got the guac and chips (so yummy, two different sauces, and the chips had a great flavor) the Sinaloa tostada and three different tacos. The homemade tortillas were so good and the flavors meshed so well together. I had the strawberry tajin margarita and it was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Beware on booking through open table. It does not list the cancellation policy that they follow. On open table, it says that you will be charged $10 for a no-show, which is completely understandable. I made the reservation 10/26 for later that evening for four people. I ended up cancelling a couple hours later due to a miscommunication hours PRIOR to the reservation time. They had my reservation for maybe 2 hours. Anyways, I check my credit card statement a few days later and noticed that I was charged $40 from this establishment, being $10/person. I called the establishment and they explained that their cancellation policy is $10/person if cancelling within 48 hours of the reservation. This was never explained on Open Table, which I will include screenshots of. This was not stated when booking the reservation, and not when I got the confirmation. Also, how could I cancel the reservation two days prior when I made the reservation same day? And cancelled hours prior to the reservation time? I explained the situation to Allen (I may have gotten his name wrong) and he stated that the rules are that I am charged if I cancel prior to two days, which again, I am fine if that is their cancellation policy. What I am not okay with is that this IS NOT STATED on Open Table, so I had no idea. I would have never made a reservation if that was the case. Whoever I spoke to mentioned that they won't do anything about it which is BS. Complete money grabbing at its finest. I was truly happy to try this place and for it to hopefully be a new favorite, but never will I ever go here or recommend it. Complete lack of customer service and accountability.
Edit, response to the owner: so will you be refunding my $40, given you acknowledge that Open Table did not state the accurate cancellation policy? I also emailed you a copy of the confirmation I received from Open Table, which list a $10 fee for a no-show if the reservation isn't canceled. I would attach it here, but it is a PDF and does not allow me to. I never received a response to my email, so no, I can not reach out directly as my concerns go unanswered. Again, Open Table states two cancellation policies, one being to cancel up to 30 minutes, and another being a $10 charge for a no-show if the reservation is not canceled. Not the cancelation policy that you are actually implementing. From your response, it is clear that there is still a lack of accountability given there was no mention of being refunded for your mistake. Nice to see you are improving your communication at my expense. Great way to handle business.

Absolutely 5 star worthy.
The guacamole came with a drizzle of chili oil and seasoned homemade chips.
The salsa Verde, roja, and habanero was super. The Spanish rice was super with a little corn. The black beans done home style no lard. Lots of vegetarian options too.
The tacos are substantial with a serving of 1 or 2. We got chicken asado and asparagus tacos, all delicious.
Tortillas are hand made fresh and yummy.
The flan was to die for. Enough to share.
Overall great food nice atmosphere and superior service.

I had been wanting to try this place since it opened, but my friends and I were unfortunately pretty disappointed. There were no chips and salsa provided, we had to pay for chips and guac; We expected some high quality, authentic Mexican food but only 1 of the 8 dishes we ordered was really good; the service was mid and it felt like our server was continually trying to upsell us. Way too expensive for the quality imo.

Excellent pearl
Really enjoyed the vibe of the patio. There’s a sliver of an ocean view, but it’s fun just watching all the activity on El Camino Real, too. The food was delicious. We had the Mr. Asparagus veggie taco, the Al Pastor, Carne Asada and fish tacos. I liked the added pineapple on the fish taco. Nice touch. And the housemade chips!! Yum! Our server, Rudy, was great. He was friendly and attentive. The only downside is the price. Cocktails were very expensive as were the entres. Maybe check the menu before coming to ensure it’s in your price range. We’d come back, for sure.
Vegetarian options: There’s an asparagus and sweet potato taco that’s delicious.
