In San Diego for business and noticed that Samurai Pizza was closed, how sad. Admittedly I have been here in years not since I was last in San Diego with my ex, Rebecca. I had a dream about my ex, Rebecca again last night. In quarantine, my dreams have been so vivid this one was no different. My ex, Rebecca had come into town to confront me about selling her out to the Cosanostra and how she ended up on the lam for years. In the dream, she was angry and she asked me "Why? Why couldn't you just reach out to me and clear the air?" She then got on a horse and rode away from me. Then, again in the dream, she was calling my friends and asking about me and my friends kept asking if I had talked to her. I woke up in a panic thinking I needed to call her and clear the air. Then I realized that I was awake and alone in my place. In the real world. I laid in bed listening to the construction happening outside my window. I looked at my phone and saw that my accountant finally sent over my taxes. I know that it was just a weird COVID dream but should I call her? What is my psyche telling? Does she need me? Is she in trouble in Albany with her husband, my cousin? What is the point of taking myself out of her narrative if she comes to me in my sleep? Is there nowhere I can find peace? No, no-no. That is crazy it was just a dream. There is no deeper meaning... right?Samurai Pizza will be missed but there are so many great restaurants in the Gas Lamp District!

I'm gonna be honest. After a long night of dancing and clubbing, I had one goal in mind: PIZZA. This was one of the first joints we found within 5 minutes of walking. Needless to say, it fulfilled my wishes and more. It was $5 per slice or $15 for the whole pizza. There was 3 of us so we did basic arithmetic; it was a clear choice to just get the whole dang pizza. We got the meat lovers pizza. My goal was completed and the drunchies were annihilated. If I'm ever in the Gaslamp area ever again, I'll definitely swing by here.

Pizza was really good, place is a dump, chairs have torn up cushions, missing fabric on half of it. Atmosphere is trash, looks like a drug lord and trailor park had a baby, that babys diaper is this restaurant, but this baby is holding a dank pizza.

Disappointing overpriced pizza. We were looking for a pizza comparable to Jets here in Michigan, and this place came up. The salad was good, but the pizza was well let's just say we were very disappointed.

Got there, no pizza. 10:00pm and not enough staff to cook? Hire people, make food, get paid. I'm sure they make decent pizza when they're actually cooking pizza.

Horrible pizza but good enough to sober you up.

The pizza was good but I can not get over how rude the staff was. Granted it was late but in no realm should you treat customers the way I was treated.

Despite reading all of the scathing reviews, I was still willing to give Samurai Pie a chance. I had been planning a pizza crawl, usually about 20-30 people on a Sunday, and wanted to see if Samurai's pizza was worth adding to the list. I stopped in on a Friday around 3pm and the place was completely empty, INCLUDING employees. My friend and I stood at the counter for no less than 5 minutes and when someone finally came out he seemed like he knew less than we did. We asked if they did slices, he said yes, then explained that pies came in 10" or 16". We explained we only wanted 2 slices and he seemed to understand but also seemed extremely apprehensive to want to help us. So we left, without ever even SEEING a pizza. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid this place. Don't waste your time.

This place has more items on the menu than pizza. I asked the server to recommend something and she recommended the philly wrap and the Caesar wrap. I got the Philly my husband got the Caesar and they were both below average. I've had better wraps in my hometown. The beer was warm and The food came out cold, probably because the sever took so long to bring it out. The Caesar wrap had a hair and the sever asked if we wanted a new one. Of course we don't like our food with hair so we said yes and the second wrap was out quickly and warm. Overall our server was very nice, brought out a beer on the house for the hairy inconvenience, the food and drinks not so great.

Legit worst food I've ever had. Service was bad. Burger was the worst I've ever had. I'm not picky and I couldn't even eat it. I wasn't expecting much and I still was let down. Wouldn't recommend at all.
