My wife and I recently had a destination wedding at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, CA. Initially trying to find a cake in an area you are unfamiliar with is stressful. We came across Sarah’s Dessert Bar online and read the reviews and comments and decided to get some information. Sarah was not only extremely helpful and responsive but also very pleasant and professional. She made us exactly what we wanted and it was delicious! People are still talking about how good the cake was. I’m extremely grateful to Sarah for making this experience easy and for helping to alleviate some stress. She was punctual so I was not worried after the ceremony about where the cake might be. She made the cake absolutely gorgeous and delicious. Her carrot cake is dangerous. It’s so good and we couldn’t stop eating it. I ordered it from Sarah for my girlfriend’s birthday. Again, it was hands down the best carrot cake we’ve ever had. Sarah is also so nice and great to work with. From the first call I had with her to her delivering it to my car when I came to pick it up, she was great and super professional. I highly recommend!

We got our wedding cake and dessert spread from here and everything came out soooo delicious ❤️ Everyone attacked our dessert table and many came back for 2nd and 3rds. Sarah is an absolute pleasure to work with! She very professional, kind and has such a warm presence! She works with you and is honest! Not to mention she made our vision come true! From the first moment we connected with Sarah, we knew we wanted to go with her for our wedding day desserts and cake! After being disappointed by the quality of a few cake/dessert tastings from other highly rated vendors in San Diego, we were really hoping to find someone that made tasty desserts, that fit within our budget, and that could bake a beautiful and delicious cake. That’s when we found Sarah’s Dessert Bar. We called and actually spoke to Sarah herself. We scheduled a tasting and actually got the chance to sit down with her, talk about which desserts were our favorites, and hear recommendations from her on what desserts were most popular with guests at previous weddings/events. Sarah was very accommodating in letting us choose a cake type/filling combination that wasn’t on her menu. As we got closer to the wedding, Sarah was very communicative and made us feel reassured that she would take care of everything on the big day. As the days counted down, we found ourselves really excited to eat more of the desserts from Sarah (we even asked her to set aside a small box for us in case the desserts were eaten quickly). The salted caramel macarons, lemon bars, Lemon trifle cups, and Chocolate pot de creme were our absolute favorites. On the day of the wedding, Sarah delivered all of the desserts and set them up beautifully on the dessert table. All of our guests would not stop talking about how delicious the desserts were, and when we cut our cake, we didn’t want to stop eating it after the first piece. At the end of our wedding night, we were SO excited to dig into our special box of desserts from Sarah. We cannot recommend Sarah’s Dessert Bar enough for any special event dessert needs you have. Sarah is our new go-to baker for all of our dessert needs for any special occasion.

The tasting sample box was a great value with lots of variety, and she was even willing to work with a custom flavor request. We ended up choosing vanilla with raspberry filling with a smooth buttercream scrape for our wedding cake, and we (and our guests!) very happy with the result. Highly recommend!

Visited the pop up at Balboa's December Nights. The macaroon was very tasty, especially considering I'm not usually a fan of macaroons. What really sold me was the hot apple cider. It was caramel apple cider topped with whipped cream and may have been the tastiest apple cider I've had.
