I have died and gone to heaven, ordered spot prawns and Venus clams for today's meal for the fam. Both were so amazing, live when we got it... steamed clams with wine, shallots, garlic, parsley, lemon and butter. The clams themselves were sweet and briny, the family finished those in seconds. The spot prawns, we tried the heads two ways, only I was brave enough... crazy family, those are delish. We pan fried half and air fried half. We did the tails with just boiled water poured over and then tossed with a tiny bit of butter and lemon. Oh dear god those were so freaking delicious. Tried the roe two ways, it was good, but not my daughter's or my favorite texture. The boys were again too chicken. If anyone has suggestions on better prep, please share. Customer service was excellent!!!

San Diego friends!! Big shout out to Saraspe Seafoods for delivering Toro to our doorstep. The Saraspe’s are long time fishing friends but recently started to deliver retail. If you miss your favorite Sushi restaurant, they will deliver it to your house. Super yummy!!

If you're looking for fresh local sustainable live seafood look no further. Tanner and her crew sell it all! I've bought a variety of product from her at her booth on Saturday mornings at the Tuna Harbor Dockside market and it keeps me coming back for more. Not only does she deal in live and fresh dead seafood but she has her family by her side at the market. Her dad and brother go out on the ocean to catch the fish and Tanner and her mom sell the product, talk about a family run business. During this time of year she has live spot prawns and live local lobster, both a show stopper in our kitchen. Not only does she sell these products but she's also created easy to follow recipes and techniques on how to handle these live products. With her expertise I have learned how to to take her product from jumping around on my kitchen counter to delicious and healthy meals. I know you can get seafood at any old grocery store but that seafood doesn't even compare to what Tanner is selling. I always feel good about spending money with small local businesses like Saraspe Seafoods, who doesn't want to support a business that supplies us with local, fresh, and sustainably caught products.
