NOW CLOSED. It was hit or miss on customer service. The business is now closed, and no wonder why. They employees seemed to be a family that always yelled and argued with each other. This mood killer also affects customers who have to listen to them yelling. The food is great, as long as the cook knows how to make an order. I once ordered a chicken sandwich and I received it with absolutely zero chicken! I had to learn which days not to go there. Guess it doesn't matter. They drove the business into the ground. Sad, because this was the only Schlotzsky's in So Cal.
Walked in and had my wallet out ready and excited to try something new. I was the guys ONLY customer and had difficulty navigating their menu- so I made small talk with him and asked him simple questions like "what's the difference between a small and medium" & "does the price include chips and drink?" He frustrating showed me that the different sizes meant different sizes of sandwiches. Naturally I thought the sandwiches stayed the same size and only the drink and side item changes, not so here. So i asked how much extra for the chips and drink- and he flipped out on me and pointed to the prices on the very bottom of the menu- obscured to me by the cash register. After his out burst I put my wallet back into my pocket and walked out. Won't ever come back.
Deli meat tasted like it came out of a chemical bath. My niece's pizza had no sauce on it and they refused to remake it, and handed her a cup of cold, congealed sauce. Overpriced garbage. Absolutely vile. Save yourself the trip.
Delicious hot and cold sandwiches. Fresh ingredients on amazing fuccaca bread. AND it's the only one in San Diego. My wife and I drive from downtown SD to La Jolla JUST for this. Get the roast beef.
I have eaten over 100 Schlotzsky's sandwiches in my life. This is THE WORST location! The bread, which is my favorite thing about Schlotzsky's, was old, cold, crumbling apart, and am pretty sure had mold on it. The pizza I ordered for my kid was not the signature Schlotzsky's crust (10in), but instead was a smaller 8in pizza made from poor quality dough. The bathrooms? A strong raw sewage odor and so much filth and grime. Unfortunatly there aren't that many Schlotzsky's in SD. I will continue to hold a special place for Schlotzsky's in my heart, but will NEVER, EVER go back to this location.
