Went to Seneca for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Our server Jamie was incredible! Overall the food was great, except for the pasta which was disappointing from an Italian restaurant. The vodka pasta was VERY bland. All other dishes ordered were delicious and made up for the pasta. Parking rates on OpenTable are not correct- valet was $12 per hour.

The food was good but not something amazing. The menu was simple which I liked. Their service was impressive and they seemed the genuinely show much care. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and they did a lot to make her feel special. The place is super cute and well designed. Their atmosphere gave an elegant vibe with lots of class. It a great place to celebrate something but I don't recommend it for someone that is looking for a Michael star experience or quality of food.

It's been several years since I bothered to write a review for any restaurant, but Seneca surpassed our expectations and deserves special praise. This was the best overall restaurant experience I had in the US in 2025. My parents had an upcoming 50th wedding anniversary, so I thought this restaurant with its birds-eye views would would rise to the level of this special occasion. It did not disappoint. The Italian fare feels familiar but with some modern twists. Every item we ordered was tasty--especially the mortadella pizza and radiatore pasta. The view is spectacular, and the 'maximalist' decor somehow works. The true highlight was the service, which was friendly, highly efficient, and never overbearing. The staff added some special touches for the anniversary celebration (champagne, custom-printed menus, warm congratulations) to make this a truly memorable evening.

They were able to accommodate a great view of downtown for us. The food was great but not the best. The appetizer Caesar salad was delicious.

I went to Seneca for my fiancé's birthday. Gabe was our waiter and he did an amazing job to make her feel special. It was such a great experience and unforgettable birthday. The view was incredible and the food was really good and the service was amazing as well. Definitely we would go back.

So we came in through the Intercontinental hotel and took the elevators to the 19th floor ( careful it's dark ) then through the doors to your left we were welcomed by the hostesses with such splendid grace ! They were super fun and directed us to the tables out doors to the far right, we got to sit by the glass and enjoy the san diego coastline and it's very very bright sun (which i didn't mind but i did notice a table move because of it and my party yap about it, we were there between 1-3 so some shade thingy that could be adjustable would be nice there ) but apart from that i LOVED this place the drinks were very well crafted and everything we ate was so well flavored, we started with the Winter squash and burrata and the wood fire prawns for our appetizers ( cleared both the plate so fast couldn't even get a pic) i had the grilled fish and crispy Brussel sprouts, i got the filet but definitely go for the whole fish because i really wanted to order another plate to go. Oh and our waitress brought us some champagne to toast our brother who was leaving on deployment and she noticed he wasn't drinking and adjusted accordingly without even having to ask so i really appreciated the attentiveness from her .. the whole staff really because our napkins and utensils were changed in such a timely manner I loved everything about Trattoria Seneca, it was a great experience

Very trendy place and the food was overpriced but good. Not your usual Italian meal with funky loud music and rooftop lounge vibes. Worst part was they do not validate the parking in the very hotel where they reside, it feels like if you spend $200+ on a meal, you should park for free, but no, it is $9 per hour so we paid $27 to park in addition to the pricy meal. Kinda terrible.

Terrible experience at this restaurant. I will never return or recommend it.
My husband and I went to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary and went out for dinner. Our reservation was at 9 pm. We arrived 15 minutes early, checked in, and were sent to sit at the bar, where we ordered two drinks. They were extremely sweet, not to my liking. I had to ask the bartender about our table around 9:15pm and only then did someone come get us a few minutes later around 9:20pm.

I thought we would be seated outside on the terrace, but they sat us right next to the staff exit and the bathrooms—awful, especially for an anniversary dinner.

The waitress never showed up. My husband tried talking to her, and she would just walk by without acknowledging us—super rude and unprofessional. The only person who approached us was a young guy who clears tables. We asked him for water and for a waitress. He was polite and went to speak with the waitress who had already passed by our table several times but kept ignoring us. I looked over at them, and she was laughing—totally disrespectful. She never came to our table.

I asked the young man to speak to the manager. Even though the manager paid for our food, it doesn’t change the experience we had. I just wanted to leave. We had never experienced discrimination before, but clearly this was our first time. They ruined our anniversary dinner, and its very sad that in these times there are still disrespectful people working with customers.

We didn’t like the salad, and the pizza was just okay. The drinks were overly sweet. Beautiful place, terrible service.

The only thing I liked about this place was that they made a nice gesture by congratulating us and putting our names on our menus.

I made the reservation six weeks in advance for a table at 6:30. We did not get sat until 715! And when making the reservation I let it be known that it was my husband‘s birthday, and I asked for a nice table with a beautiful view. We were sat at a table overlooking the vacant parking lot. The food was mediocre. The service was terrible. I will definitely not come back.

Lugar muy lindo, ambiente tranquilo, la comida está rica aunque esperaba un poco más de sabor en la pasta, pero en conclusión, por precio y lo lindo del lugar se compensa.

Linelle and Lorenzo were an amazing pair-creating a very special celebration for me. They really went above and beyond and the ways that they interacted with us were so joyful and attended to every request. Can’t beat the atmosphere and view and the food was great, especially that persimmon salad.

and everything was amazing! The Panna Cotta Flip was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Dark Chocolate Nemesis Torte and the Pear Hazelnut Mousse — not very sweet, but still good if that’s your preference.

The sunset view was incredible and made the whole experience even better.

Seneca is owned by the same restaurant group as Born & Raised, Lafayette Hotel, and Morning Glory, and the quality definitely matches. Highly recommend for drinks, dessert, and a beautiful view!

Annabelle provided me with phenomenal service! I love that they offer multiple non-alcoholic cocktail options. I had the garlic bread (TO DIE FOR) and the Arancini rivaled ones I had in Bologna. And to top it all off, the banana dessert…lord help me.
