Best korean bbq short ribs in town ! Only korean restaurant uses less less MSG and I have no reaction too. Not too salty either is A+ . The side dishes are so delicious. The servers are attentive and pleasant, but not consistent with giving you second round of side dishes(high turn over?).Vegetarian options: Tofu as the protein, the veggies are fresh and tasty for both soup and side dishes.

Terrible. As a long time Convoy tofu house customer, this place doesn't compare. I was nervous but also excited to check this new place out, and I quickly learned my lesson. Never again. If you're Korean or you actually enjoy good korean food, this is not the place for you. First of all, we waited close to 1.5 hrs for 2 items, a tofu soup and bulgogi. And the worst part, the food was terrible. The fish egg tofu soup was so bland and one of the worst tofu soups I've ever tasted. 1.5 hrs wait for that? No thanks - go somewhere else! Also, do not get the bulgogi. It tasted so weird and it smelled really weird too. I felt naseous smelling it. Something was very off in the food, and that's not a good feeling at a restaurant. If you want the TLDR, save your money and go somewhere else as there's plenty of good Korean restaurants to eat in San Diego with better service. To be fair, it seems like they have good employees, but terrible management. I talked to the manager and while I told her about the food delay situation, she looked very checked out in the conversation. She was also sitting down the whole time on her laptop while she was talking to me. She didn't have the deceny to stand up or be off her laptop to talk to her customer. Her team had a better understanding of what how customer service works compared to her. Due to the food being so late, our plans were delayed. And, the manager didn't even apologize until after I told her that. And it was very half assed too. And to top it off, after I walked away I saw her talking to her employees about me which I thought was pretty disrespectful. The employees were more apologetic at the delay / situation than the manager was. To the manager there- I recommend you get training from your employees on customer service 101. If you're looking to wait over 1 hr on disappointing Korean food and terrible management, this is the spot.

Food: bulgogi, seafood pancake, jap chae. The food was just ok. I was really there for the seafood pancake and although I was happy they served it with the sauce, the pancake was undercooked and lacked that yummy, crispy crunchiness. Disappointing. Service: the service was friendly and expedient, however they let this homeless guy eat in there and he had some mental problems. Kind of made the patrons uneasy and hard to relax because you didn't know if he was going to flip out. Won't be back.

Seafood beef tofu and beef short ribs, best ever in town. And the quality of the amount. Outstanding and the staff thank you

A very nice Korean BBQ and tofu soup house. Very tasty with excellent side dishes. Friendly and professional staff. Quick service. Clean. It is is kinda a sketchy strip mall area, but don’t let that stop you from eating some really delicious Korean food. Served piping hot!

As others have mentioned in similar reviews, I was a little nervous when Convoy Tofu House had changed over management, but everything has been wonderful. They still have great tofu stew and their kimchi is on point (assume they kept the receipe from prior owners). My family and I have been going here once a week for the past month or so. We have tried several different dishes: 1) Tofu Stew (Mushroom, Spam & Sausage, Kimichi); 2) Ramen with dumplings; 3) Tteokbokki; 4) Bossam; 5) Seafood Pancake and several other appetizers. All of them have not disappointed and the service has been great. We will be back again soon!!

This place used to be convoy tofu house which was our favorite Korean place. now with new management the prices are x2 higher. We have to find a new favorite spot. Not worth these new prices.

A while back I accidentally ordered from the business at this location (Convoy Tofu House) thinking it was Tofu House down the street. I even went down to tofu house and was surprised to find they didn't have my order. So I picked up my order from Convoy Tofu House and long story short I never went back to tofu house and fell in love with the kimchi at Convoy Tofu House! Fast forward to now, looks like they have rebranded and changed management but the food is still amazing, the Banchan is still the best you can find up and down convoy street. Happy to see the quality is here to stay.

We ordered the the topokki with deep fried sweet potatoes and spam and sausage tofu soup for takeout. We enjoyed the tofu soup, it was really spicy but had good flavor. The topokki was a little disappointing though, I didn't really like the sauce. I also saw that they'd given me the deep fried set instead of the sweet potato, which was what I was looking forward to :-( They offer the topokki and deep fried set in a combo but charged me separately for both. I liked the sweet potato and pumpkin, but didn't eat the rest of the set. Bummed out about my order getting messed up and overpaying.

I got the Bibimbap with Beef in a Hot Stone Plate. Was a little sad that everything was extra, adding the beef is now +$3 extra. I thought the Hot Stone Plate was worth it, since it hardens the rice on the bottom, making it very crispy and crunchy. Thought this added a nice texture to the dish.

I loved the Korean food! We were torn between this place and their sister location in El Cajon, but we ultimately settled on this place for their wider variety. The service was great and they were very attentive! The food was amazing and so were the prices -- it also came out very quickly. Definitely recommend!

this place used to be Convoy Tofu House, so I guess it was just a name change because the quality of the previous restaurant is still present! great tofu stews with a lot of variety in combos, entree plates, and soup flavors. some places I've been to don't cook their spice level well but this spot does a great job really cooking that spice INTO the soup! and their spice levels are not a joke! especially the dishes that are thicker sauces like dubokki, that's stuff is hot. always a great go-to spot for tofu stew, and their banchan is tasty too! priced are reasonable and we rarely have to wait during lunch hours. this is a staple restaurant!

I was a little worried when I saw that Convoy Tofu House had closed down...but then I found out that the restaurant is still there but under new management/owners. The food seems to be just as good as before and the service is good. I'm glad all the things I normally would order are still on the menu so I'm happy! However, it was a little odd that they were out of the Bossam but the Kimchi Pork Belly was available....it seemed pretty much the same thing except the latter is a soup dish? I could be wrong but it doesn't really matter; we got the Kimchi Pork Belly and it was frikkin delicious so I ain't complaining. This place is a great spot for authentic Korean food and if you love spicy food. I normally get the very spicy level for my tofu soup. It's still flavorful and doesn't just destroy your taste buds. You can get stuff mild and not as spicy for those of you that are weak (just kidding lol).

I can see this place being more popular among teenagers and younger people since there's quite a bit of seating. Food on the menu is mostly meat and some tofu soup. I ordered the seafood noodles and not a whole lot of ingredients. Banchan is fine. Not my to go place in the area. Service is good.

Tried this korean restaurant for the first time because my usual korean resto place that I go is close on Sunday. I ordered Bibimbap and my husband ordered seafood tofu soup, they're both pretty good but the rice that they gave us was tasted old or quality is not so good. I know the quality to expect when it comes to rice, I always eat korean food. I'll give the sides 2 stars because the kimchi is good but the rest looks and tasted old. Staff are really great!
