The food is very simple for such extremely high prices. I ordered a beef shawarma plate on salad, and it cost $28! That’s just ridiculous and feels like exploitation. The food doesn’t justify the price at all — there are plenty of places with the same or even better quality for much less.

Food was meh. Shared a waygu beef pita, chicken pita, and beef fries. Beef fries were the best. The pitas were just ok. Kinda dry. Flavor was ok. Pita was super thin and crumbly. For the promoting the title best in the country, I’d say it’s average to below average compared to most of the food in Sd.

The food was actually horrible oh my god, do NOT get me started. I love Mediterrarian food MAJORLY but this place was absolute garbage in comparison to even some of the lesser of my favs. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl and the rice was the worst part of it. Soggy and clumpy. BLEH! The person at the counter was a bit pissy and the manager kept interrupting me while i was ordering??? Weird place with weirder people.

These guys definitely know what they're doing with their combinations here! About the beef and chicken bowl and it was a really lovely combination! The rice and hummus and tabouli and made really go well together! Every item on its own is quite decent, but when you mix it all up and have it in one bite it's just beautiful!
Didn't even need the garlic sauce!
Also got the chicken egg roll on the side. It was nice and crunchy and the filling on the inside was flavorful. They cut it into two so you can see what's on the inside as well. So that's kind of cute. I were surprised how it didn't taste as greasy and oily even though it was fried. Definitely recommended.

I went yesterday on October 18th and I had the California Shawrma wrap and it was not tasty at all… they need to take it off the menu…
They don’t need to try to emulate the California burrito. Just keep the Shawarma wrap the Shawarma wrap. It doesn’t need french fries in it because the flavor is thrown off of the actual Shawarma. I couldn’t even taste the flavor of the Shawarma or the pickles or all the other stuff that makes a Shawarma wrap the Shawarma wrap. He just didn’t need it at all. I like eating Halal Mediterranean food however that one was just too much keep Mediterranean food Mediterranean food. It doesn’t need to have a California twist. We enjoy it because of its originality. . He just didn’t need it at all. I like eating Halal Mediterranean food however that one was just too much keep Mediterranean food Mediterranean food. It doesn’t need to have a California twist. We enjoy it because of it’s originality and it being the cultural food of the Mediterranean people that’s why we enjoy not because it needs to be anything else from California or American centric.., It doesn’t need any help being anything extra… As a Chef and Food Critic myself… this one menu item isn’t necessarily needed… to make this restaurant great! Other than that great atmosphere helpful employees and clean restaurant!
It’s amazing to have shawarma guys in Mira Mesa! I tried their OG truck at South Park before, it was awesome, I remember I loved it so much so I brought my husband back to try their food. And I said it was probably the best falafels I’ve ever eaten. This time they gave Wagyu on their menu! That’s so special. We had a Wagyu beef bowl with Wagyu beef eggroll, we also ordered a bowl of chicken, fries and a beer. Everything is delicious, Wagyu is so flavorful and tender! The chicken is delicious as well, not dry at all. I like the eggroll the most, very crispy outside and soft and flavorful inside, it is just perfect, that’s why Guy Fieri likes and recommends the eggrolls. They are in the Mira Mesa shopping center which is a busy area with a lot of shops around. This is definitely one of the good food places when you look for a nice place to choose.

First time at the Shawarma Guys location in Mira Mesa and the food was delicious. I'm so glad that they opened another location because that means business is going well.
We went for lunch on a weekday and it was quite busy. Ordering at the counter was quick but seating was limited inside. There were people standing around waiting for tables to open up or for their take outs. We were lucky to grab a table before the lunch rush. There was a long wait for our food after it was ordered too.
Everything was pretty good. The beef eggroll was better than the chicken eggroll. It had more flavor but both were a bit on the greasy side.
We got the chicken and beef shawarma bowl and the beef shawarma bowl. Portion was large and the meats were tender. I end up eating only half and taking the rest home.

Went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon — loved that they had plenty of vegan options! It wasn’t too busy, and the food came out quickly with generous portions. Our waiter was friendly but couldn’t recommend a popular vegan dish when asked, which was a bit disappointing. The vegan egg rolls were really good, and the falafel bowl (with falafels, yellow rice, hummus, and tabbouleh) was delicious. The tables were a bit cramped and pushed up against the wall, which made the space feel a little tight. Overall, a good experience — I’d definitely come back to try more of their vegan options.

So good!!! The store is clean with enough seating. I got takeout and the wagyu egg roll was so delicious I didn't take a photo in time. The wagyu bowl was great, though a tad salty. I could just eat spoonfuls of the hummus. Overall such a filling meal and great option in Mira Mesa!
My expectations were higher based on the YouTube videos I’d seen from when this place was a food truck. The restaurant is clean and the food is good quality, but the taste was pretty average.

I like their Falafel better than any I've tried. It has great flavor and was so crispy. I also love their Fattoush Salad, Greek Salad, Dolmas, Hummus and Tabouleh. They have been super fresh and the salad dressings are delicious!
Sadly, I was not a fan of either of the Shawarma meats that they are famous for. The spices seem a little conflicting and the meat wasn't my thing either. If I want Shawarma, I am going to still head over to Tahini. Lots of people seem to enjoy the meat, so it could just be me.
That Falafel makes me very happy. Maybe it won't be life changing for you, but if you like Falafel or want a delicious salad I would definitely give them a try.
I first had them when they were just starting out in a food truck. I remember it was so thin and flavorful with generous portions. Fast forward, many years later, they have multiple stores.
More item has been added to the menu. They have chicken or wagyu beef offered in salads, bowls, fries, pitas, and wraps.
I got half and half with chicken and wagyu beef bowl as well as the chicken bowl. The bowls come with rice, hummus, tabouli, pita and sauce.
I split this up for dinner and lunch the next day. It’s really filling. Also picked up a beef and chicken egg roll. The egg rolls were on the salty side.
For dessert, they have baklava on the counter and even fresh gelato made daily!

Quality food, all halal and no need to figure out which meats are non-halal vs halal like you would at a place like TKS. Support Local!
