My colleagues and I, who all work at UCSD, had the pleasure of dining at Shores Diner today, and it was such a fantastic experience. It was our first time there, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Matt, the bar manager, who was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. He and the primary cook were not only friendly but also so fun to chat with.
The restaurant is really cute, creating a perfect atmosphere for enjoying a meal. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. We had such a great time, and we’ll definitely be back for another meal. I highly recommend it!

Ordered takeout for spaghetti marinara and chili cheese fries. Portions were pretty big and filling. Guy with the beard serving us was friendly with good customer service. Only thing was that the chili for the chili cheese fries was quite sweet, and tomato-ey tasting, which is a bit different from what I am used to from other restaurants. Overall decent food with good portions compared to dining halls!

Actually, the guy with the beard isn’t racist. I’m Asian-American and he’s been my first friend since I started attending this school. Coming from the restaurant industry I can say that sometimes it just gets really busy and people can’t help it. I think making allegations about someone being racist is a bit too far and shows a lack of empathy for people working in the restaurant industry. Vice versa many customers can be very entitled as well.

Didn’t greet/talk to us at all(did it to all other tables), didn’t give the menu or take our orders for a longgggg time lol and when we asked for the check he just left the device at our table and left.
