I recommended for the next eclipse an eclipse party with bananna splits, Sparklers, glow in the dark balloons and kites, rootbeer floats with cappuccinos !!!

Good place to eat overall. When my food came out, it was pretty good, it just needed a little more salt, which I was able to add myself.

Before ordering, I asked if I could bring my dog, and they said yes. They are dog-friendly, but to avoid disturbing other guests, they seat you outside which is totally understandable and appreciated.

They had cups sitting outside that they poured water into for us to use. It was a unique setup, but the cups had a slight fishy smell. I’d recommend just asking for fresh water cups, and they’ll gladly bring them out.

The food came out pretty quickly, and the service was good overall. A solid spot, especially if you’re dining with your dog.

The Shores has the most perfect view if you sit patio , and outstanding customer service. They even brought water out for my dog with a bowl. My friends didn’t like their food but I had the jambalaya rice and it was amazing besides the flavorless shrimp. I will say the food is a bit expensive but high quality as well.

Thank you to our server, Sarahi! She is the sweetest server ever, and did a phenomenal job taking good care of us! She also told us places that we can visit and made menu suggestions. She was a joy and the biggest part of this 5 star review. The guacamole here is the BEST. Home made and perfectly chunky !!! I’d come here for the guacamole alone - and to see Sarahi. Her smile is genuine and her personality is radiant . Also, we sat outside with an ocean view- FANTASTIC! The hotel is beautiful and they renovating one side. We’d love to come back and stay here!!! Dog friendly too !

Went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Remarkable weather for end of January. Had the yogurt and fruit bowl and crab eggs bene and a couple of cocktails. Food excellent as was the service. Can't beat the view right on the beach boardwalk. Tip: you can park in the garage under the hotel and they will validate 2 hours free. But watch out, $20/hour after that. Would recommend.

Great fish tacos and beautiful sunset. For a beach front location it really wasn't busy at all.

Must have been a bad night for the resturant. The only thing going for this resturant is the ocean view. Food quality was average with a very limited menu. Service was slow and we had to ask for the salad before the meal was served, then the meal came a minute after the salad was served.

Requested an outside fable and was seated then told we'd have to leave it in 1hour (even though we had a reservation) so we were moved to an other table. The hire out kept going out and we were told it had been like this for a few days. So we had to keep asking it to be out again. The final straw was being attacked by a seagull who swiped down and u to my burger. So m e things are not within the hikers control.

A somewhat limited menu but containing some nice dishes. What we ordered was great: fish tacos and Icelandic salmon. Service was great.

The sunset views over La Jolla Shores are beautiful, and the staff was genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the visit worthwhile. The food, however, was fairly average. The ceviche tasted a bit plain, and the soup could have used more acidity and some added texture to bring it to life. Portions were generous, but the flavors didn’t quite match the setting.

We chose this restaurant primarily for the waterfront view and made a reservation in advance for outdoor seating for a party of seven. We arrived on time, but were seated indoors, far from any windows. When I mentioned that our reservation was specifically for outdoor seating, the host told us they don’t have outdoor seating available for a party of seven. I then pointed out a large empty patio table with eight seats, but was told the table was “closed” and that the manager had confirmed it wouldn’t be used. We reluctantly sat inside. Not long after, we watched another party the same size as ours get seated at that exact table.

The food was okay but portions were very small for the price. Nothing terrible, but not in line with the prices.

I’m giving this place 3 stars mainly for the potential of the view—assuming you’re actually able to secure a window or patio table.
