Loved our experience at this place from the food to the professionalism! The owner was very hands on with helping us with our order and answering our questions. The staff was also really amazing! We really enjoyed the food, and the portions and prices are unmatched here in San Diego! Highly recommend and they’ve earned a loyal customer.

I get a side chick sandwich and fries every time I come, and they're always delicious. They don't cheat you at all with the size of the piece of chicken on the sandwich, and the sauce that comes with the fries really makes the meal. It's a little small inside but I always get my food to go
I was highly upset my sandwich was nasty and it wasn't even right I asked for the hotchick they gave me something else with coleslaw never again the fries was ok

Fries were good. They were different from other places that serve fries. They were perfectly fried.We tried the side chick sandwich and it was good too it had a good flavor.Criticism: please put a warning sign or something about how spicy "hot" is.We ordered the hot Chicken thinking it's going to be on the spicy side, no big deal. But this was beyond what we could handle. It was so spicy that i could not eat the sandwich. I had to rinse off the spice because it was so spicy. The other thing is that the hot didn't have flavor it was just hot ?I would try other sandwiches just nothing that has the hot chicken

Great fried chicken sandwhiches! Always fresh fries. Love their western chick sandwich. They also have good service. There was a miscommunication on my phone order - I ordered two of the same sandwhiches and when I got there, the person who took the order thought I only ordered one sandwhich. Well, they made the additional sandwhich very fast!

You would not expect to find some of SDs best fried chicken in a tiny hole in the wall attached to a grocery store, but Side Chick is incredible! Super small space, quick service and fantastic food.We are always on the hunt for a good spicy chicken sandwich. Their only good rival was Boss Bird in La Mesa, which has since closed. With that, they climb to the top of the spicy chicken sandwich list.

This place is BOMB like way better than Dave's . I love hot chicken they got me addicted to them side chick fries. The side chick sandwich is really good without so much spice . The hot chick is really hot though love this place

I got a side chick, and I'm sorry, not sorry, but I'm not giving her up. She's mine.I was in the area visiting my chiropractor, Dr. Reese, and after trying a few times but being too early in the morning, I wasn't able to pay her a visit. I got some today, though, wink-wink. Side Chick is attached to Manolo's Grocery. Everyone at Manolo's and Side Chick were friendly and quick to say good morning! The stores were impeccably clean, parking was plentiful and easy, and the place was easily spotted from the street.They had just opened, and I was greeted right away. I wanted to try a bit of everything, and that's what I did. I ordered the Side Chick Fries, The Skinny Chick, Cali Chick, Hot Chick, 3 Tenders with fries and house made pickles, and the original Side Chick. My order came out within 5-10 minutes as promised, and as I was leaving, the place was filling up with customers. I'm usually monogamous, but man, this chick has my heart.I took everything home, and we promptly devoured it. Concensus was that the fries were amazing(said the person that doesn't really like fries), the side chick sauce was fire(from another that frequents chicken joints), and we all agreed the chicken was well seasoned, juicy, and tasty.I definitely can't wait to get some more of my side chick lolBonus, I just found out they have two locations, another one in South Bay/IB. I'll be visiting that one soon, since it's closer to where I live.

I absolutely love this place. Great tasting and good quality. I’ve been coming here for a while and never been disappointed. My concern is from the other day when I went and ordered a sandwich. The cook is also the cashier and after I ordered my sandwich the guy after me paid in cash and change. I watched the cook handle the cash and change and without washing his hands make my sandwich. I was so grossed out I threw it away. I would love to come back but not until they have more sanitary conditions. They used to have a girl at the cashier and the cooks just making food but that hasn’t been the case lately. Be aware.Update:I came here again for lunch today and a woman cashier took my order and the guy in the back made my food! It was delicious
