I've been going here for a while. Before today, I would actually recommend this place to people I know. However, those days are over after my experience. I came in during rush hour time after my shift had ended at my job. When I walked in, the place was pretty slow. The woman that took my order today (September 25th, 2024 5:10-5:30pm) seemed annoyed towards me asking if they were open as none of the employees had flipped their sign on the window to show they were open. I placed my order, waited and received my food. Only to discover that an entire meal is missing out of the bag by the time I had drove back home.
I called the restaurant, the phone was being ignored. Then the 3rd or 4th time I called, I was greeted by the same woman that took my order. Before I even told her what was missing, she already had said what it was. I had to drive back through what remained of traffic back to the restaurant. Again, was not busy at all when I walked in and I was also being ignored for a bit. When I was finally acknowledged, she gave me my food.
They didn't even attempt to compensate me at all for the inconvenience nor did they even remake anything from the order. So now, I have a little less gas in my cars tank and came back home to some cold fries and sub par mac and cheese. In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if they spit in this with how unwelcomed I honestly felt even when they failed.
You lost my business permanently. I'm also going to recommend people avoid you guys from now on.

I've only eating here once. But overall it was a very good experience. My friend wanted barbecue and I'm not really a fan of barbecue. They're crazy beans phenomenally good. The mac and cheese was kind of a letdown. It really comes down to texture and I didn't really like the texture. It was kind of powdery.
But they have a cider and meadery right next to the restaurant. So you can order your food and enjoy some really good cider and mead. I wound up buying a few bottles and a crowler. It was 22$ for a flight of cider and another 22$ for a flight of mead. I will def come back here again. My friend ordered a different meal (3 by 3 or something), and he really enjoyed it.

Stopped by yesterday for a late lunch with some friends. The TV dinner was great, good crackle on the outside of the Pork Belly, Beans and Mac sides were delicious. Washed it down with a Sour Cherry Cider.

Best BBQ in Mira Mesa! Great selection of mead & cider. The service crew is friendly and welcoming.
The girl who took our order for Smokin J's selected her own tip and signed for my purchase on the tablet... Didn't even give me a chance to do it. Just had me swipe my card and then turned it back towards her self, as if she was hiding it from me, and selected a tip and signed. Never seen anyone do that before. It's illegal and they'll eventually get in a lot of trouble if she keeps doing that. I reported it, just in case she's doing that a lot. Multiple reports will result in the law being enforced. The food was good though. That's why I didn't give it 1 star.

Such a great find! Yummy bbq plus creative ciders (strawberry black pepper O_O)! Loved the ciders that we tried and sounds like they have something new and interesting each week! The ciders are very well balanced, not too sweet not too strong. We came here cos I was craving some good fries and we got some yummy corn muffin and bbq briskets along with the fries.
Literally the best Brisket I have had in my life. For that alone they get 5 stars. Also cool vibe and good meads. I like this place.
I think they could do better by not serving a $20+ plate in a plastic container with plastic utensils…..I lived in Europe for a while so this stuff is just cheap, also bad for environment if you care about that too.
But all in all I will go out of my way just to come here for the brisket…. It is amazing.

The quality of the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs were top notch. I would have liked more sauce for the amount of protein. However, I now know to request extra next time. The beans were amazing and not like any I've had before. The mac & cheese was pretty good as well. I'd definitely order again but plan to visit the restaurant for the dine in experience.
