Excellent brewery, great selection and solid tunes
Fantastic experience here. Respectful, friendly, and outgoing service. Good beer selection. IPAs on one half of the menu, everything else on the other side. If you're sticking with the non-IPA side, the kolsch, blonde, Belgian golden, and their stouts are all great. The Debutante amber all was a highlight. Vibe good here, too. It's a large, destination brewery, with lots of available seating inside and out. A handful of bar stools, too.
By far one of the best breweries and beers in San Diego. ! The Pupil
Is made with Nelson hops and their constant new brews keep us coming back on a regular basis
Make sure to ask Troy for his opinion and if Doug is in give him a high 5
Nice space, nice beer, and always good music for those Clairemonsters who grew up in San Diego (they basically play the jams from 91X - Blink, Green Day, Offspring - it rocks, literally).
Pay with CASH ONLY here.
On 6/22, Societe added a tip onto my card that I didn't authorize. Tipped one 2beer transaction up to 20 even and the other trx i left at price of 2 beers - later saw that the lesser transaction was increased to add an additional $4 tip.
Great beer tho. (Sorry but next time, tips will be $0 -- this is BS, not to mention fraud)
Six of us used to come here all the time. The beers are great and taco truck is amazing. However now there is little outdoor seating and it is so loud inside we just sat there and looked at each other. The guy behind the bar asked me to speak up when I went to order. We'll just do take takeout from now on.
Great beers, cool location, shame they had to do away with the parking lot benches…
Could use some options for food over the same food truck. Nonetheless it’s a good place to grab a drink
Good beer 🍺!!
Always a great beer! 🍻
Great beer selection. Lots of room. And tacos at Chacho’s food truck are good!. The loaded fried are Loaded. If you are in the area - come here. Loved the hazy and IPA options. My friend liked the Sours.

I’ve been going to this place for 3+ years as we have a warehouse within the area. Today, while I was with my son, I was told I can not drink a beer from the 6 pack I bought from Society while we were waiting for our food per the bartender with the slightly grey beard. Our group has done this many times before. When I asked if I can finish my drink he said, ‘no, you have to leave now’ despite my report that I was unaware of any wrongdoing.
I requested the manager who told me that I should be aware that it is the law that I can not open a container that I bought within their facility while we wait for our food (we were playing cards). The manager asked the slightly grey bearded bar tender to put it in a glass and we were good. The bartender then intentionally picked a small glass to pour half of my remaining beer into before pouring out the rest of the beer that I had paid him for with a tip. The place is decent, just a bad bartender. We’ve spent well over 1k at this place throughout the years, we will not be coming back.
Use to be family friendly... They shrunk their patio :(
Also, there is one manager that doesn't seem to like kids, she always makes random comments about kids running around when we are there.
Lastly, Tyler is one of the best people that works there. He is always friendly, welcoming and great with our kids.
Society is always a great spot to stop for a beer! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The tasting room is wide open, and you can see the whole brewery and all the fermentation tanks. There is always a variety of beer consistently on tap. It's a great brewery if you have a large party too, much better accommodations than other breweries in the area. Almost every time, there seems to be some sort of food truck or pop up to grab a bite to eat.
Love Societe , The Pupil IPA! Fantastic tasting smooth. Tried many IPA brands, but The Pupil is best!
Dropped in to buy some beer to take to a friend's place. Was surprised that the 6 packs are more expensive than at total wine. Bartender was super friendly though.
