We have eaten at Solare many times; the food is always outstanding, the service is great, and the music is nice. On this visit, we had the swordfish and the pappardelle Bolognese I would highly recommend both.

I ordered the spinach ravioli, but unfortunately, the spinach was undercooked and lacked flavor. The pink sauce spaghetti, on the other hand, was quite good, and the margarita was also enjoyable. However, considering the prices, the overall taste and quality didn't really feel worth it.

The chicken marsala is so divine that although the menu has many opportunities for fabulousness, I can never refuse the Chicken Marcella! It is a bit noisy so you will need to put on your big voice sometimes.

Always an amazing dining experience! Julie was wonderful and attentive and Randy (Owner) makes us always feel like part of the family.

As long time customers, we were quite pleased with The updated menu selections, however we both went with long term favorites -I the lasagna and Jan the Sea Bass, Both delicious, however Jan found a hair, under her Bass, Server was told, and the manager came to the table - A second Sea Bass was, per our request, boxed (Jan had consumed the majority ,before hair noticed) and we were compt a delicious desert for our inconvenience. I have always said - it not the problem -It is how you handle it Is how I judge -They handled it well

Marginal at best. Not busy. Waiter wanted meal orders x3 even though we asked for time after drinks were served. Salad with pear and Gorgonzola had minimal amounts of either. Pasta watery, lamb chops remarkably flavorless. The chicken Marsala was said to be very good. Maybe an off night for the kitchen and waiter.

Solare is a dependable neighborhood restaurant with solid wine and bar offerings to support its menu.

Lovely service with James and outstanding food and wine 🥰. Great place to dine after the newly opened Cygnet Theater.

It's perfect— except the plane noise. Maybe it would be quieter inside. Will try that next time.

Solare, as usual, did not disappoint. The food and service were superb. The only problem is stopping our conversation for the Point Loma Pause. Our waiter, Corinna, was efficient, made good recommendations and looked after us.

The pre-theater menu included a 3 course option at a fair price. Entree choices included multiple choices.

We were warmly welcomed (back) by our server who was excellent. Informative and just the right amount of attention. Spoke with the wine specialist who will carry one of our favorites. Toward the end of our meal the owner checked in and was very appreciative of our input. The scallops and filet were excellent and we will make Solare a recurring dining destination. Highly recommend it!

Arrived just after seeing a play at a theatre down the street. We had reservations and were seated promptly, but service was a little slow due to the crowd of people who had the same idea for dinner. But the food was delicious, served hot and beautifully plated. Noise level was extreme, again due to the crowd and no soft surfaces to absorb the noise. (We couldn't hear each other speak)

Unfortunately, this will be a one-and-done for us. With so many restaurant choices in Point Loma, the attitude / vibe of Solare and the food being only so-so discourage us from returning. A couple of the staff were accommodating / caring, but the majority were rigid or unwelcoming. The prices were not cheap, and extra pieces of crostini to finish off the bruschetta toppings were $1 each. With a few exceptions of the staff who get it, nothing about Solare exhibits the “welcome to our family” vibe enjoyable in so many Italian restaurants.

I made reservations to celebrate my wife's birthday. Excellent food and service. Parking was easy. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
