We ate dinner after a whale watching cruise. It was getting a little late but the staff did not hurry us out the door. We had a seafood platter which was reasonably priced and plenty of food. It was really pretty good.

We love small, local restaurants like this. 100% recommend eating here!!!!!! :) and the seafood is delicious! All cooked to order so it’s fresh!!!! :)Kid-friendliness: Lots of families here.

Came here right after a cruise and we got 2 ahi tacos and 2 shrimp tacos. They were the best I’ve had in a long time! The shrimp was huge and the ahi was done just right. And the tacos were a good size! Would def come here again for a casual seafood night

I wish yelp could do half stars too because this deserves 3.5 stars. After doing the whale watching tour, decided to eat here for dinner since the smell of the food was very inviting. We decided on the fried seafood platter since it had a little bit of everything: clams, calamari strips, 1 fish filet, and 2 shrimps and came with fries, a large chowder and side of garlic bread. The seafood platter was good for 2-3 people, depending on how hungry you are. It was mostly clams but typical fried seafood and the taste was good. The calamari was a bit chewy so it was the least favorite. The chowder was delicious and the side of garlic bread when dipped into the chowder was so yummy. We weren't expecting to enjoy as much as we did but glad we tried this place out. The place itself is big, tables available inside as well as a few tables outside to enjoy the view. bathrooms were clean but for Those with little ones, they do not have changing tables just FYI. The staff working on Sunday evening 1/28 were also very nice! I imagine they get a lot of business from those who do the sunset cruises and whale watching tours. Perfect spot to be in! Would recommend if you are near the area!

So torn because the food and view is excellent but cashier is a Jerk. Told him I ordered two fish and chips and he says no you didn't, I said yes I did. He went on to say he even repeated my order which my wife and I both agree he didn’tThen I told him it's ok just don't argue just charge for another but he just wanted to continue make his point and in turn ruin my night. I really nicely told him look I know your young some advice just don't argue when it doesn't matterKid-friendliness: Rude service but great kids menu

Aweful service by cashier he was just so bored or hated his job, or both? If he had some drama in his life I hope it gets better :( Food was good and I loved the clam chowder I suggest training/retraining the staff or at least the young man at taking orders.

Nice taco joint that goes well beyond tacos. Had a Christmas theme painted over its windows when we dropped in. Indoor and outdoor seating and overall atmosphere great for kids. Its food is adult and kid friendly!

We ate here last night very close to their closing time. The fish and chips were outstanding! Lightly breaded and, oh so fresh fish! Just yummy with equally tasty French fries. The server at the counter was super nice and helpful. We will definitely be eating here again. PS: My granddaughter said her grilled cheese was "the best!"

Was down here at Quivira Way and on way to the entrance of the channel. Always saw this place passing by and friend suggested it, so gave it a try. The outside of the building looked a little ragged and worn. Inside was in need of something. Price for 2 fish tacos wasn't too bad. Upon opening the 'to go box' I see that they put their fish tacos on flour tortillas. What!!!! Oh well. The tacos were edible but no reason to return even though they say they're "the best fish in town". I would look at their health scores as I definitely wouldn't have made a stop if I had seen them prior. ( ) Hopefully they'll take care of these issues/scores.

Great prices, wonderfully view and fun tiled tables outdoors. This is a fisherman's hangout, so it isn't fancy but it supper fresh fish and really nice staff. Fish is cooked just right, and the fries are yummy. It is a great place to have a casual lunch.

We really enjoyed the fish and chips after a fun whale watching tour! It had great flavor, perfectly crispy, and we thought it was the best fish and chips we have ever had. Shrimp and ahi tacos were ok. Highly recommend!

Stopped at Sportsmen's Seafood for lunch with some friends. Our friends own a boat which was our mode of transportation. We docked near the restaurant and walked over. We found a table outside for the four of us. It is an order at the counter, wait for your name to be called then go retrieve your food kind of situation. The dude behind the counter was totally cool and helpful. I ordered one each Ahi taco $4.75, Shrimp taco $5.50 and a small Clam Chowder $5.80. Becky opted for one of her favorites, Fish and Chips $12.60, which is purportedly their specialty. The ahi taco was really good. A generous portion of fish, perfectly grilled, nicely dressed and in a very good corn tortilla. They remembered to omit the guac as (sadly) I am allergic. As good as the ahi taco was, the shrimp was even better. Plump shrimp lightly battered and fried to perfection. I loved the shrimp taco. I could've eaten a half dozen of them! The chowder was delicious. Thick and creamy and lots of clams. It was really good. Becky's fish n' chips were stellar. They claim this to be their specialty and they nailed it. The fish batter was light and the fish inside was flaky and moist. Man! It was good. And the fries! Wow! I don't know if they're double fried or what, but they were outstanding! They had Pacifico on tap which was great for me. Mango was the only White Claw flavored offered and Bex hates mango. She settled for a can of Truly. Definitely want to return to Sportsmen's Seafood. What a great lunch spot!

I had never been to San Diego & was here VERY briefly for work, but I wanted to soak up local seafood. I asked a gentleman who has lived here for years & has a boat in the marina, "where is the best local seafood?" ; without missing a beat, THIS was his recommendation. I ate 2 meals, in my 48-hour stay, here! Fish n chips the 1st night (with this STUNNING view) & clam chowder & veggies for lunch the next day. The staff remembered me & thanked me for coming back! So yummy, fresh, simple, & chill! While everyone else Ubered to fancy, schmancy Italian & steak places, I'm so glad I found this gem!
