Absolutely love StarBar! Keller serves up the best drinks. Only issue is the music. EDM when there’s a EDM club right across the street? The bar should definitely hold strong on rock n roll vibes. Got that small town dove bar charm to it. Regardless I love coming here!

Been going here over a year. I play pool pretty often. As soon as the DJ music started the vibe was killed. Please keep this a dive bar. Get a DJ that plays music with vocals. Change the genre every weekend or keep it the same. Biker music, country, rap. Whichever. But this isn’t it. I love this bar but this isn’t a club.

Fantastic little dive in Downtown. Love the low key vibe, bartenders, and music. Drink prices are very reasonable and they have an excellent happy hour, 1pm to 6pm and $4-6 select drafts, $4 wells, and other featured bevvies at low prices

This is my go to dive bar in Downtown SD. Cheap drinks, nice pool tables, good people. Marina is my favorite bartender, if you see her behind the bar, you are in good hands. If you are a pool player, you should also check the 9ball tournament on Mondays and 8ball tournament on Wednesday.

Don't recommend the Star Bar in San Diego, bad bartender, literally threw my drink away, I tipped exactly what my drink cost before this most bartenders that know me know I do this. After this, I got another drink tipped him $5 more than the beer being $4. He threw my drink away accidentally supposedly. He then gives me a small glass of Bud light 🙄 like half the size and it was full. After I've tipped him more than the drink was worth. #starbar #california #sandiego worst attitude ever on top of that just negative vibes. Worst one I've been to so far, and that's saying a lot. Not a welcoming environment. 💯👌
I was in San Diego for a conference. I told my friends I’d find the equivalent of our favorite neighbourhood pub (Canadian here). I googled Karaoke Bar (even though I don’t Karaoke). The service was great! Atmosphere was very friendly. I feel I definitely got the local experience! Exactly what I was hoping for! Also excellent prices compared to my hotel!

Was having a bad day and went to Star Bar to have a drink. That’s when I met a guy who works there named Amir or Ameer(not sure how to spell his name) Anyway he was so nice and funny and turned my day around for the better. I’ll definitely be back!
