This place is always super slow no matter how busy/quiet. If you can, try the starbucks in the vons instead

I've been to MANY Starbucks... and this was by FAR the WORST experience I ever had. I was just there: Friday, 19-Jan-2024 around 11:30am at 2556 Laning Rd., Ste. 105 San Diego, CA 92106. I think that this is the Depressed Starbucks cuz the two baristas that were initially there look so depressed. The Asian/Hapa looking barista gave an unenthusiastic greeting and kept making her drinks. I went to the register and stood there... and stood there some more. The white barista with long light brown hair appeared from the back area and took her sweet time to get the register, where I had been WAITING to order. She was sweeping the floor, ever so slowly, as she was making her way to the register... I guess the floors required more attention than a customer waiting that the register? So much time had passed by that I actually had the time and built-up enough frustration to ask, "Can I place an order?" I have NEVER had to ask this question ever, in any cafe I've ever been in. Not sure if she took her sweet time because I'm older (gray hair) or because I'm Asian, or a woman? Whatevs. Order placed... Starbucks app wouldn't work b/c I guess that the facial recognition isn't "good enough" anymore. [Aside: Aaaand now that I'm at work an I've entered my password, I get, "The operation couldn't be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error 401.)" What the heck, Starbucks?!] Then I walk to the side to wait for my coffee and I see the Hapa barista drop a container on the floor that was going to be used to make a drink, she rinsed it out with water and was about to use it to make a drink and I stopped her and said, "You're going to use that cup? It fell on the floor...." She said, "I rinsed it out." I replied back, "With no soap and water...?" Hapa Girl, does the slow turn away from me and I'm sure that she rolled her eyes to the white barista and begrudgingly walks to the back where I assume she washes that container with soap and water. To me, it's like dropping a fork on the floor at a restaurant, and the server just telling you to wipe off that fork on the napkin... THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN and I would hope that when a container used to make drinks hits the floor in a Starbucks that the barista would either get another container that hasn't crossed paths with the floor or wash the contaminated container with soap and water. Is that really too much to ask? Is this not common sense? Do you have your Secret Shopper these days? In my opinion, this Starbucks DEFINITELY needs help... re-training? A mood boost? Sumptin...! Not the kind of experience that I'd expect from a Starbucks or from this area... Good Lawd, this is Point Loma! I feel like that I need to go to another Starbucks to replace what I just experienced. Yuck!

This is a Starbucks where they have two restrooms but only one available to the public, I find this policy extremely selfish and inconsiderate. Store manager remember the customers pay for coffee and the associated amenities that come with it and we like all amenities to be available.

Your typical Starbucks except unlike many other locations that have taken away seating this one actually still has tables and chairs and an outdoor patio area with the same. That was refreshing.

Fast and friendly service. Small store but plenty of outdoor seating! My visit was during off hours (around 6:30pm on a Wednesday) and the store was very quiet. The two girls working were super friendly and very outgoing and chatty. They seemed like good friends and there was lots of laughter. Maybe not conducive to study, but good for the soul to see joy in the workplace. Clean bathroom! Though no soap when I was in.

Still just blah. Everything is kept away...sugars, napkins, straws, etc.Getting the attention to inquire if you may get some straws, etc is annoying as F. They seem bothered that the people who spend $ here should ever interrupt whatever is happening on their phones.#downhill

Had coffee 5 days in a row last week. The coffee was inconsistent, and the service wasn't good. They acted like they were angry I was there.

I go to all the Starbucks and you always let you use the bathroom, but this Starbucks I guess the morning crew doesn't want anybody use the bathroom cuz it might have to clean it up later. So I didn't even buy my coffee there and it went coffee being a tea leaf because they always like use the bathroom.
