I stopped in here before my hour drive home from La Jolla recently. I couldn't figure out the parking and ended up grabbing an open spot in front and making a quick run in. This location has such a positive vibe! My app wasn't working (I usually order ahead for mobile pickup) so I was lucky enough to have Kirsten wait on me. She was a joy - so friendly, incredibly helpful and patient with me. I appreciated her help, especially after a long day without coffee, and my drink was perfect! Highly recommend this location A++.

Why do I need 2 cups and a sleeve for a cup of coffee? stop wasting paper for no reason. last time I gave a cup and sleeve back they just threw it away, today they told me “its company policy”. No company has a policy of wasting product.

There’s been a couple times i Ordered online & they forget my order or someone takes it . I don’t mind i get things happen.. but the customer service is horrible in this location . I asked how much more time since I work around the location .. the barista gave me attitude not a single sorry it will take this much time … when I came back to pick up my drink it was straight milk . By far the worst Starbucks I’ve been too .

I'm a UCSD grad student, and I love coming here to work. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Kirstin, especially, is such a ray of sunshine. Super recommend this location. If you come often enough you start to see familiar faces.

Garbage customer service. The store mismanager, Truman, needs corporate retraining on customer relations…specifically, his soft skills. Needed to send an EM, kicked out for not buying a coffee at 3pm.

Their manager, “Truman”, needs to work on his managerial soft skills. Kicked me out after 15 minutes for not buying coffee (I needed to send a quick email from my laptop). Fine. You lost a customer.

Let me start by saying I have spent $10-20/day at various Starbucks locations in the San Diego area, often needing to work on my laptop and talk to clients. I stopped in the Regents Park location as I have dozens of times over the years, and was there for no more than 15 minutes before the store manager “Truman” told me that if I didn’t make another purchase (I’ve had 3 coffees already today, and just ate lunch) I would have to leave. I needed 10 more minutes max to call a client, but he insisted that this new corporate policy would be enforced without exception. I asked Truman if he’d be willing to lose a customer forever over this, and his answer was “absolutely”. Surprised, I asked again. He asked if I was threatening him (hilarious). I told him that, yes, I was threatening to never spend another dime at Starbucks. He doubled down, saying “absolutely”. Apparently Truman doesn’t either understand or care about losing customers over this. No problem, it’s not like there aren’t plenty of other coffee houses to choose from. And that includes shops like Peet’s Coffee and Dutch Bros, to name just a couple, who don’t have the reputation that Starbucks has of burning their shots and microwaving stale, soggy food. Save your $$ and avoid Starbucks at all costs. They are the McDonald’s of coffee shops. Their product is average at best, but they have the most locations and think that makes them the best. They’ll soon find out that they miscalculated. (And provide some customer service retraining for Truman. His managerial and customer interaction soft skills need improvement.)

I’m a regular at this Starbucks, and I’d like to address an issue I’ve encountered. There’s a particular barista, a tall white woman who always wears a mask and she works today1/6, whose drinks are consistently very weak. I’ve had her drinks many times, and each time, they are too weak. It feels like the coffee or matcha powder isn’t added in the proper ratio — it’s barely there. The milk seems to be overly diluted, and the drinks almost taste like water with no flavor. At first, I thought it was a machine issue, but I’ve noticed that drinks made by other baristas are fine. Only this particular barista’s drinks are consistently subpar. I hope this can be improved.

This Starbucks is in a prime, bustling spot in La Jolla, where weekday mornings often see a long line. Ordering in-app in advance is highly recommended—you can usually pick up your drink in about 10-15 minutes. They’re great about launching holiday drinks on time in early November, with festive decorations, themed gift cards, and cups available for purchase. Parking can be validated using the in-store machine at the counter, which is convenient.

During one visit, I ordered the Cranberry Merry drink but found it a bit too sour because it was missing the coconut milk. When I mentioned this to the manager, he was happy to remake it, and the corrected drink tasted perfectly balanced with just the right level of sweetness and tartness.

There’s plenty of outdoor seating in the plaza, which is pet-friendly, so you’ll often see locals with their dogs enjoying drinks under the sunshine. It’s a welcoming spot with a great holiday vibe and excellent customer service.

Parking: The parking ticket could be validated at the drinks pickup counter.
