I wish I could give them 0 stars but I guess 1 is the minimum. I don’t know what it is with Americans and horrible customer service, but here we are. Stopped in to take a meeting after working out at the LA fitness across the street. Fell in line to order some coffee, and rather than take the orders of the customers lining up, the sole barista at the front decided to continue what she was doing and let us know she’d be right with us.

I had a meeting with a client in a few minutes, so I got out of the queue to sit down and ordered my coffee from the mobile app. There is a table designated for mobile order pick-ups, so I figured I’d get on the call and watch the mobile pick-up table for my (black) coffee. According to the mobile app my order was placed at 08:53 and would be ready at about 08:57. The call with my client started at 09:00, and of course, my coffee had not made it to the table. I didn’t think it was really a problem, as I can easily ask them about my drink after my call.

What did bother me, however, was one of the workers thought it appropriate to approach me and interrupt my call with my client. This young man walked over and while seeing me talking to someone through my laptop, asked me rather pointedly,

“sir, are you planning on making a purchase today?”

Being in full view of my client, I needed to maintain a certain level of professionalism so I simply replied dryly, “I did,” while pointing at my phone, resisting the urge to ask him if he or his team was planning on pouring my coffee. I finished my call, took a look at the mobile pick-up table and there was still nothing on it. It was 09:17.

Horrid visit. Whoever runs this Starbucks should revisit their staff’s seriously lacking standards of simple customer service. When you see a line of customers forming, you should probably stop what you’re doing and tend to them. When you have a list of mobile orders to make, you should make them and place them at the pick-up area designated by your own company. When someone is on a call, you should not interrupt them, especially not to underhandedly accuse them of loitering. As this occurred in America, I can’t help but wonder if the man who approached me had concluded I was loitering because I’m not white. There’s quite a few productive and successful people who look like me all over the world, lad.

Try implementing these trivial practices, and you might experience some more success. I can’t wait to get back overseas. Visiting San Diego was great, but I’d skip coming to this particular Starbucks again.

I only ordered regular coffee at the Starbucks. Coffee was stale even though they said it was prepared fresh. It was thick also and I asked for hot water to dilute it. They refused. Neither service nor the coffee was welcoming. I would not go there again. It's sad--a few years ago the place had better quality and friendly service.

I am a loyal long term Starbucks customer with the Starbucks app in my phone and a rewards member. Just purchased my morning coffee at the location 2 miles away from this one. I was on my route delivering Amazon and needed to use the bathroom. I stopped at this location and they would not let me use the bathroom asking me to buy something. I just did at a different location and I am a loyal customer. The tall woman would not let me, with the smile on her face she said no. She told me to go to the shopping center across the street which is closed. Wow. I was so shocked, I walked out speechless. Not a single Starbucks I have been to treats customers that way. And they know well that Amazon drivers are so pressed with time to deliver , we don't have time to look for the bathroom. Your employee just made you lose a loyal daily Starbucks customer. Will be getting my coffee somewhere else.

Found out why they were so short on staff they had to close in the middle of the day a week or two ago. The broad Mallory wouldn't let me get a piece of parchment paper after I bought 15 dollars worth of merchandise the previous day. I think she was helpful in answering my questions, but I can see how she would be a xunt to anyone below her.👇 zero stars if I could for not only not being neighborly but not acting in good faith, and the Carmel macchiato I had the day prior tasted like they ran out of sugar and sweetened it with stevia. They're low on staff, low on parchment paper, and apparently low on cane and regular sugar. I hope this dame gets fired or this location in its entirety gets replaced with a Donut Touch.

(For the company, not its employees) Employees dont get paid enough to care, which I understand. Its the only place within miles, is the only reason why I go here. Every time the food is awful and the drinks taste subpar. No longer giving them my money. Wish a coffee place would open open close and put them outa business.
