Tasty and good value. We were on vacation at Ocean Beach for a few days and noticed this restaurant 2 blocks from where we were staying. My wife, a Filipino, wanted to try it so she got take out. She got me the spicy pork belly sisig with rice and it was excellent. Good portion too. Starfish filipino eatery was one of my favorite restaurants to go to on my trip to San Diego. My friend who has lived in San Diego for a year or two now noted there weren't a lot of sit-down filipino restaurants nearby but that she's always wanted to try this place out. On Sundays they had a special going on of all silogs on the menu. A (insert meat item) silog comes with garlic fried rice and an egg on top with your choice of meat. I've been wanting to try this place for months and today was the day. It's an excellent smaller restaurant run by a lovely lady named Anna. It's like being a guest in her home with lace curtains, small paintings and mementoes. Really homey and it puts you in the mood for Anna's homecooked Filipino food. A special today was seafood paella, spicy yellow rice with shrimp, scallops, sausage and veggies. At $12 it was better than versions at other restaurants for twice or three times...read full review
