In the land where good tacos are a dime a dozen (San Diego), Chef Cesar offers taco connoisseurs an experience ripe with flavor, high-quality ingredients that are bursting with flavor, and a creative flare only matched by his classically trained tenor operetic voice! Yes, that's right, Chef Cesar is a professional tenor whose love of music is in harmonious sync with his passion for the flavors of Mexico. You see, the classical world is marked with excellence, a pursuit of perfection, and aggressive competition, where the best operatic singers place their mark on the world by single digit decibles. For those of us who live to eat another taco every day, Chef Cesar offers a level of commitment to the experience of Mexico and its flavors that become an instant classic, at first bite. It is an understatement to say that he and his staff in the kitchen are in pursuit of the perfect taco experience...
His dinning room staff are welcoming and familiar, as those from your own home who greet you with a smile and a desire to bring you inside, from the cold outside, and fill your belly with goodness. And in a world of overpriced restaurants, where disappointment has been a familiar face, Chef Cesar, with his love for the family-table, for his native Mexico and for the fine arts (musical and culinary), he will transport you back to a familiar time when laughs, aromas, and a full belly brought magic to the evening.
Come to Steak and Bones, treat yourself, you deserve it, and be sure to tell your waiter if you are celebrating your birthday, as you will be treated to the most delightful and memorable surprise.

The nachos are freaking delicious! My boyfriend says they're the best nachos he's ever had. The tacos are super yummy. And the staff are great! Friendly, good attitude, and attentive. Definitely a win in my book.

I had the pleasure of meeting W. Scott and Ursala Koenig for lunch and it was awesome! We shared the Potato Taquitos, The Signature Steak Plate, and Birria Taco and a specail treat from Chef Cesar, Fried Shrimp Tacos! Everything was incredibly flavorful and delicious! For me the tortillas make or break my experince and theirs are what took the tacos to the next level! The service and salsa bar added to this really enjoable lunch.

The food and drinks are divine. Plus the service was incredible. I would highly recommend coming for happy hour if you can from 2-6pm as you can get some of the tacos for 2 for 1 and cheap margaritas!

The tacos are good if not simple--just well cooked meat on a tortilla. I got watermelon agua fresca and they allow free refills which was nice but it was wayyy too sweet, more sugar than watermelon. I was also frustrated by their packaging (it was a to go order), the box with the taco in it became soaked with grease pretty quickly and was falling apart by the time I got home.

We went for Happy Hour on a Friday to get the 2 for 1 taco deal. There seemed to be a miscommunication on the end of the waitress. We ordered (what we thought to be) 6 tacos for the price of 3, and even clarified the amount when the order was read back to us but we ended up with 12 tacos for the price of 6. Though the food was good, the wait was long and the experience chaotic overall. Had to ask for napkins, water, and while I understand Fridays are busy, these things are easily avoidable. I’ve been here before and had better experiences just beware the happy hour promo is misleading!

My SO and I and have been twice in one week because the T.J. Taco is crave worthy! From the delicious tortilla to the perfectly seasoned carne asada, it's the taco to get. Not to mention that their horchata is so good! One of the better restaurant horchatas we have had.
