We spent $70 for a delivery including a $10 tip. We received 2 claws and 2 small crab legs the shrimp was mushy and unedible. This is the second time that my order was like this. But first time shame on you second time shame on me. It will not be a third time??!!!

Much less wait time than crab hut, but the quality was lower. Nice specials, but I didn't enjoy the crawfish or the crab.

Unethical business that does not care about their customers. My family has been a long time, loyal customer to Submarine Crab, but I will never go there again and recommend that you do not either. We ate there on Jan. 5, 2024. 3 members of our party of 5 ate the oysters and became violently ill a day and a half later. I reported this to the SD Health Department and they have concluded that my family got sick from the oysters they were served. There has been an outbreak of oyster related illness throughout San Diego and I do not blame Submarine Crab for this, but I am appalled by the way they handled it. I called the restaurant right away when I suspected my family had become sick from the oysters. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager on duty, but she would call me back in the next day or two. No one called. A few days later I read about the outbreak of oyster related illness and called the restaurant again. Again, I was told there was no manager on duty. I said I wanted a call the following day. No call. I left two voicemail messages. No call. Called again and spoke to the same employee. He told me that he spoke to the owner and she said she would only call me back if they received other reports of illness. I was angry and disgusted that they would not even have the courtesy to call me. They didn't need to admit to any wrong doing, but what kind of a business are you if you cannot even speak to one of your customers and at least show some level of concern. We spent $250 on our meal. This has been our restaurant of choice for birthdays and special occasions. We have been loyal customers for probably over 5 years. We go there 4-6 times a year and spend $200 - $400 each time. I was not looking to sue the restaurant. At most, I might have asked for a refund for my meal. If I had been treated with respect, I would have remained a customer, but I will not spend money at a place that is only concerned about covering their ass and has no concern for their customers. I know the restaurant is aware that we did get sick there and still they never contacted me. Some concern and respect for your customers can go a long way. You have lost our business and I will not hesitate to let people know about my bad experience at Submarine Crab.

Definitely in my top 10 seafood boil restaurants. I definitely recommend you get Jalen as your server. We got the pound of crab with shrimp and torpedo sauce, medium and a couple of add-ons . definitely had an amazing sauce. We even added extra definitely recommend. It was a definite bus down !!! 9/10

love this place! besides the good flavors and cooking, here are where this spot shines over other seafood boils:- the gloves aren’t the cheap loose ones that make it easy to make an oily mess on your face- the corn here just tastes better/is marinated better- the sides and appetizers are so good here! Also the cajun fries are seasoned better than other spots!

Really enjoyed the meal but I think I got food poisoning from the oysters. Looks like there may be a bad batch going around as I’ve seen it at other restaurants too recently. Just a heads up on that for the staff!

Food - we think better than Crab Hut. Food comes out fresh, hot and not over cooked especially the shrimp. You can tell it's not been sitting in the sauce getting rubbery.Service - great customer interaction and service overall. My water glass was never empty.Atmosphere - Great! No wait to be seated.

I loveeee seafood boils and Submarine Crab made it on my list of regular places to get crab legs from! I had a very good experience here. There was plenty of parking, no wait, and the food was BOMB. I tried their Cajun fried, crab rangoons, garlic noodles and ordered the shrimp and crab combo - which includes sausage, corn, and potatoes. Flavor was on point, crab legs were meaty and delicious. They have oyster for $1 ea during happy hour. I'll will be back to try that :)

Came here with my 2yr old and 4yr old. The server was awesome towards my kids. Their popcorn chicken and fries were perfect for my kids, while I had the crab legs shrimp and crawfish boil, while my husband had the fried rice. I got the house seasoning with medium heat for the boil, and it was all cooked perfectly, nothing over cooked.

Was definitely a unique experience, very messy but they give you all the things you need to clean up! Fair prices for the boils and the boys really loved it. Nice service, clean and nice restaurant. But pricing for everything else is a little up there for the quality.

We came on a Thursday afternoon and there was no wait, so we had really quick service. The decor was really nice and clean, and I appreciated how many booths there were. I also liked that they had a sink outside of the restrooms so you don't have to wait around for a sink to wash your hands if need be. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. She informed us about their special, which was $1 oysters in quantities of 6 until 6pm. Also, every combo came with an extra half-pound of shrimp! We got combo 3, and chose 1lb shrimp, 1 lb mussels, 1lb crawfish. We got the cajun flavor and extra spicy, and my friend and I agreed that it wasn't very spicy at all. They also give you a complimentary rice, mango, and coconut dessert (soooo good!) All in all, it was a nice experience and we will definitely be returning whenever we crave a good seafood boil.
