Baklava was rip off we bought these baklavas for 18$ ?
A super authentic Turkish restaurant! The food and the service were great! Would gladly go again to try some of their other dishes!
One of the best authentic Turkish restaurant that I have ever been to. Everything was fabulous honestly the food and the desserts were incredible compared to the other Turkish restaurants. Plus the customer service was outstanding so well done ??
The Pistachio Latte was awsome and the cakes are great. Great new place.

We stopped by for dinner during our SD trip. The location is super nice and the place was packed when we visited. The environment is pretty relaxed and informal. The server was nice and helping. They asked us to change the table after we started to eat the appetiser! We didn’t mind tho. We drank ayran, a buttermilk drink very authentic to Turkish cuisine. We started with falafel and babaganoush as appetiser. The falafel was great, and the babaganoush was decent. It came with some flatbreads, exactly like store brought flour tortila. We expected hot and fresh, house made pita instead. Me and my husband both shared a single main entree, the platter with some rice, kebab and salad. The rice was just okay, but the kebab ( made with ground/ minced meat) was terrific. The hot and juicy kebab was marinated well, and cooked to the perfection. We ordered a kunafeh as dessert which was terrible, a true disaster. I have had this one many times before in many places, so I had a specific standard. The kunafeh was greasy and chewy! Inside the cheese was almost like mozzarella. When the server was asking about it, we couldn’t resist, but told her the truth. Knowing our heartbreak, she gave us a complementary baklava, which was super. Overall, the food was decent, but the service was super slow and careless.
Could become a 5 star place if the guy at entrance was more welcoming! Our server was professional but some items were a bit late. When waiting outside for a table didn’t feel comfortable because of the type of people outside. We did call to reserve but he told us only walk in!Food was ok, Doner was good ??and our fav was the Kunafa ?? desert options here are plenty and worth trying.. maybe get it to go next time. The angry guy needs to work on his anger management! I saw him yell at another customer: “I’m busy” ? poor guy ordered 1 item! I’m sure if he was nicer they’d get more customers.
This restaurant is a hidden gem.Foods are super delicious and very affordable. Would definitely come back.
Best Turkish food and excellent service
I have left very few reviews in the last two years: The COVID19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the dining out industry, and the experience for the consumer has been as frustrating as for the owners and workers. My guess is that Sultans, located on 4th Ave in the San Diego Gaslamp District, is family owned, and our meal tonight was delicious — with outstanding service. We walked in on Christmas @ 5 pm without reservations (10 of us) and they squeezed us in with a smile. There was nothing fancy, just delicious and authentic Middle Eastern food. The vegans and carnivores in our two families were all happy. The meal was perfect. The Baba Ganouj, Hummus, pita, and other vegetarian dishes were first rate. My daughter loved the chicken kabob. The lamb dishes were enjoyed by those that ordered them. Portion size is generous.

This is the second time I come here for donar sandwich and they tell us due to the pandemic they don't serve doner even though it is still on their menu. Why do business blame every stupid decision on the freaking pandemic? They have the kebab, the bread and the sauce and somehow can't make a sandwich. I have to stop coming here even through their food was decent. Luckily, there are other choices nearby where they are happy to have your business.
Food is good, service is great but takes a while lol wish they hire another waiter. Both times I went there been the same thing.
Seriously the best baklava I've ever had. You won't be disappointed! Great hummus and falafal as well! I wish they shipped the baklava so I could enjoy it at home!
I tried their Iskender Kebab, Beyti Kebab and lentil soup. They all were very delicious. Friendly staff , Turkish snacks for sale, outdoor seating available.
