Was excited to see a Sweetgreens nearby. I noticed that they longer offered line service, so we must self order on tablets. I missed telling them just a squeeze more dressing or looking at all the fresh ingredients and choosing. They were out of pickled onions, I tasted my salad and it wasn’t so great. I asked if they had other onion options and they said yes but it was a premium “balsamic onion” item. It was a huge inconvenience to go back to the tablet and order onions after I had already asked for the bread I’d ordered earlier. It just felt overall distant and a lack of service without the interaction with your food and the service providers. Overall disappointment with the mediocrity, I used to love them, and it’s very very rare that I leave a bad review.

I was excited to for this location to open but I wasn’t satisfied. I like the UTC one way better. I do not like the self ordering as you walk in. No one talks to you or asks if you need help. Very unwelcoming and unfriendly atmosphere. The food is way overpriced for its quality and taste.

I love sweet green and was really excited about a location closer to me than Del Mar Heights. But I was really disappointed with the new automated system they’re using. I’m not sure if it’s a trial or if this is how they are doing it now but I urggeeeee you guys to get rid of it. Next time I want to go to sweet green, I will be making the drive to Del Mar for sure. Aside from the impersonal experience, the machine makes customizations either difficult or impossible and there is no way for the employees to override it. There is also no place for you to order with an employee, it must be through the screen. The food was okay but the experience was so bad that I would not return.

BOMB 10/10. Love sweetgreen so happy they opened one in San Diego. Quite frankly I like the automated service, more efficient and less interaction.

I have been counting down the days to finally get some sweetgreens! I saw the balloons today and immediately got excited. I ordered a chicken ceaser bowl and the green juice. The bowl, was not great at all. The lettuce was bitter and wilted and there was maybe 4 pieces of chicken. I added cucumbers and there was maybe a few little chunks. The avocado was so brown and mushy I threw it out. For a $20 meal I definitely expected more. Super disappointed. The juice was great though. I do want to point out that there was a really nice employee, long blonde hair, cutting apples, she greeted every single person that came in. Hopefully the kinks get worked out during the soft opening.

I ask for the military discount, because the utc mall does offer military discount and Alma said NO! That is dumb since is the same restaurant. Alma couldn’t help out much! Last time I come here to this restaurant.

I really like SG in New York, so I was exited to try in in San Diego. Mission Valley disappointed me so much: first of all food is overpriced. More than 70 bucks for 2 people for bowl and just a drink. Second, in the bowl with avocado and chicken there were a few pieces of meat and a bit of rice on one side, the rest was ALL greens and apples! Crazy for the 20$ bowl. The outside table so dirty and sticky, unpleasant to eat at. So, very mediocre and I think management kinda careless. I wound prefer other restaurants even to grab to go and never order again here. Hope management will notice that.

I just came in with my soccer team of 35 people. Not only did they get us our food within 15 minutes of getting the order but they didn’t get a single order wrong. They ensured we had everything we needed and had excellent customer service. LOVE THE STAFF HERE!

I enjoyed a nice Kale Caesar Salad from this place for lunch.

The Salad came with a mixture of kale and romaine lettuce. It also had very good tender all white roasted chicken, which I liked very much.

I asked for the dressing to be mixed in the salad, you can also have it on the side, which was very good. It offered that nice zesty flavor with hints of anchovies. The salad came with some terrific parmesan crisps which added great texture and flavor to the salad. The salad also came with cherry tomatoes and shredded parmesan cheese.

The service was friendly. The place was well kept, clean, and organized. Oh yes, they offer you a slice of whole wheat bread with your salad. The bread was very good.

There's plenty of parking, inside and outside seating is available.

Great tablet efficiency and food came out quick. It’s a better model than the other locations that don’t have the self service tablets. I guess A.I will replace us all in day

So happy SweetGreen is growing in San Diego! Had my favorite, harvest bowl and will go back as long as they remain open! Service was friendly and quick. And the store smell is just amazing!

I’ve ordered twice in the app for pickup, and both salads have been good! I’m a DC native and was thrilled to see Sweetgreen come to mission valley. Hoping quality stays consistent and this is a staple. Welcome to mission valley, sg!

I’ve been a fan of Sweetgreen for a long time, but I’m extremely disappointed with the new automated system at this location. The food is still good, but the experience feels cold and impersonal now.

I much prefer the other locations where a real person takes your order and makes your bowl in front of you. With the machine doing everything, it feels like a vending machine with a salad — not what I come to Sweetgreen for.

This change has honestly taken away a big part of what made Sweetgreen enjoyable. I won’t be returning to this location.
