One of the BEST hot pot spots in SD!! This restaurant has been saved on my to go list and my fiancé and I finally walked 5 min from home to try and OMG! I love the energy when greeted, the seating in a big square makes it fun and more sociable! Our host had amazing recommendations and my go to for now on is the Sukiyaki!! Everything was soo good and fresh… I’m going back this week! Truly a memorable experience!!

Outstanding service and great food! Our server was very helpful with recommendations for both returning diners and first timers, he really made the experience fun. The meat and vegetables were all fresh, making my own broth to cook in was a different experience but one I would definitely do again!

What an awesome restaurant. We've been here multiple times and will continue to go. Good selection of meat options, veggie options. Everything is always very tasty and all the servers are great.

Feeling soooo thankful for the delicious dinner with my boyfriend last night! There was a guy with reddish hair that was so incredibly fun to talk with since it was for me a new experience! I am thankful for the yummiest soup that came from the Waygu meat and Ribeye Steak! 🥩 It was alll sooo good along with the Yummiest strawberry 🍓 Mochi!!

Vast selection of quality broths and meats. Everything is quality and the staff is really solid. Def need to come back again to try more! The double combos are where it's at imo. Really enjoyed the Colorado lamb and wagyu.

Absolutely blown away by both the food and the service! Came with a large group from all over the world while visiting San Diego and although they don’t take reservations, we called ahead and they were happy to accommodate us. Most of us were first time hot-pot enjoyers and our server Steven was absolutely phenomenal, took his time to explain each menu option and made great recommendations for our individual tastes to ensure a delicious meal for everyone in our party. Very present and personable and was eager to answer any questions that came up.

The Truffle Sea Salt Edamame was so good I wanted to fill my suitcase up with it to take home. I opted for tonkatsu ramen with the ribeye and beef short rib combo, the broth was flavourful and the meat was tender and delicious. I would post pictures but the food was so good I forgot to take any! Easily one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and the price was WELL worth it. Highly recommend, we will be back next year!

I couldn’t imagine a better restaurant staff. The food was great but the manager and staff made what was literally a casual dinner night into a super memorable evening. Expect to leave paying around $50/person and happier than when you came.

I had the best hot pot experience at Tabu Shabu in North Park! Went with chicken as the protein and miso broth—both were perfect. The fresh ramen noodles were a standout, and the veggies were spot on. Huge shoutout to our server, Steven, who was amazing throughout the entire meal. His service was top-notch, going above and beyond.

Also, major props to Luke, the guy with the coolest embroidered Tabu Shabu vest. I asked about merch, and though they didn’t have the exact shirt I wanted, Luke literally ran down the street to grab what I needed from their backup storage. That’s next-level customer service!

Don’t miss their lychee dragon fruit sake dessert shot—absolute BOMB. Overall, an unforgettable experience, and I can’t recommend this place enough!

Mostly everything served is very fresh. Food, service, and atmosphere are all very nice. The hosts are professional and fun. They are clearly excited to share this type of Japanese inspired fare as well as their love for it. The flavors here are simple. Each veg or protein has a distinctive flavor and texture that are clean, bright and are standouts by themselves. The broths range from light and simple to sturdy and complex. Taken together, the combination of unique flavors is the main attraction with their version of shabu-shabu.
I say, "their version" overall because the vibe here feels like shabu-shabu through the eyes of a West-coaster. The sauces are amped-up rather than subtle and the veg portion sizes are sorely lacking relative to a traditional setting. I guess it shouldn't shock me that this is a chain found on the West coast with a few locations in TX. Don't expect to get out of here for less than $50/person. Think more like $50-70 per person. They do offer a 20%-off happy hour from 5pm-6pm, Monday through Friday as well as a return customer discount of %10-off.
