Good service is hard to find and excellent service is impossible, however the staff at Tabu Shabu delivered excellent service this evening. We were a group of 3. It was 20 min to closing and they welcomed us with a smile. The food was excellent. The flavors were on point. This was a 10 star out of 5. Great service is a lost art. This place is a gem. The staff understands the importance of creating a memorable dining experience.

First of all this is expensive for some broth with a ton of vegetables and a little meat.I also didn't like the setup with everybody sitting at the counter. There is no way to really enjoy the company of the people you went out with. Finally, I don't know what they put in their food but I felt uncomfortably bloated at the end. And I mean bloated, not full.

By far THE BEST meal I've had in San Diego after 2 trips here from Canada in the last 3 months! I've never had hot pot before & Aaron was incredible with his service, recommendations & hospitality!! I see cannot tell you how much we enjoyed this experience & the immensely! I cannot wait till our next trip to SD in a few months & we'll be back to eat here again! ?

This place is absolutely amazing. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious and I am very grateful there is a handicap table which made it possible for a family member to enjoy the food with me. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone looking to try a new dining experience in San Diego.

I love this place. We have been to Tabu Shabu many times and never disappointed.it seemed like they have updated the menu recently (I am not sure if they have increased the price too) The portion of meat isn’t large and it can get quite pricey if you are a meat lover and want to order a lot, but the quality of meat is good and you typically get pretty full by the end because of the soups, vegetables, noodles and rice, etc.The vibe of the restaurant is nice and service is always good. A lot of the customers we have seen seemed to go their for a date night or want to try something new/different.I would say this is probably the best Shabu/hotpot type of restaurant in the area and definitely will recommend to people who love Shabu or hotpot.

My family loves this place. The food is delicious and the service is great. Everyone who works there is kind and seemingly loves their job.We have ate here I believe twice. And we really enjoy the take home option which we have done 4 times. We make a whole night of it and my 9 year old even loves the food and enjoys that it's a whole activity. There are negative reviews here which clearly they didn't understand what hot pot is before going. That's totally okay but I hope they try again because it's fun, healthy, and very good. The amount of food you receive is crazy and it's all perfectly prepped for you to enjoy including some very tasty sauces. Also the take out for 2 is enough food for my family of 3 to have 2 whole meals.

Menu is smaller than it used to be and they made some changes but it is still delicious. The meat quality is going to be hard to beat elsewhere. They used to offer free 2nd plate on veggies if you wanted more as well as broth if you got low. That didn’t happen this time. However, we were so full by the time we got to the end that we didn’t need it. The staff was friendly and doing their best to keep up with a full place even though they looked short-staffed. Another good experience.

This place is so cool! Everyone orders separately, which threw me off at first, but it was great being able to choose your own broth and ingredients. The service was a little awkward - we asked for the chili drops and were given sriracha and then the drops were offered without request to the people sitting next to us. So we were confused, but we would definitely go back and had a great meal overall!

This place was not even on our radar but it is now. We had planned on going to a favorite restaurant but we got a late start and couldn't make it before they closed. We did a search for restaurants in the area open later and Tabu Shabu came up in the search. We decided to give it a shot and were not just pleasantly surprised but shocked at how good it is. The service was top notch. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced for what we got. This definitely has made my list of go to restaurants in the area.
