Best Mexican food I've had in a really long time. The collection of flavors stuffed into a perfectly sized burrito is breathtaking. Quite literally, due to the fact that you won't have time to stop eating and breathe while you stuff your face with tacos and burritos. I lived in Tijuana for 7 years and not once have I found food like this there. TaCaliente truly is a remarkable dining establishment.
Really good quality food. Would definitely go here again, customer service was nice and quick whenever I needed something. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone that is craving delicious food.

First time eating here and I am really disappointed in the food. The carne asada was extremely salty and tough. I couldn’t even eat any of it. I also got the fajitas and they didn’t have flavor to it, just seemed like it was tossed on the grill for 10 minutes and that was it.

Very disappointing and disgusting experience. Veggie tacos didn’t have half the veggies advertised (mushrooms etc) and just had slaw. If they didn’t have any veggies available they should have told me when I was ordering. Also found little pieces of meat in the tacos so the fact this isn’t place is advertising as “vegetarian friendly” is extremely misleading and not at all true.Also the 4% discount with cash was not provided.

A few days ago, my partner and I ordered delivery from here - shredded beef burrito bowl, carne asada taco, and chips & guac. We liked it so much we tried again tonight for the taco Tuesday deal ($1.25 each) and got a bunch of corn tacos: carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, birria, along with chips & guac and salsa. We did pickup this time because the online delivery services don't reflect the taco tuesday deal. The cashier was friendly and patient, and the food came out super quickly - less than 10 minutes!Both times, the food has been absolutely scrumptious! My partner and I are really picky about meat texture (i.e. fat and connective tissue), but every meat we've tried has been perfectly tender. The guac is also deliciously lime-y, just how I like it ?The only gripe I have is that both times, the chips have been mostly stale. We'll probably skip on those next time.

This spot is great. I think they had a different taco shop here before tacaliente so people avoided it but it’s worth trying again.The chefs put effort into their product which isn’t common across all taco shops in San Diego. Everything is cooked perfectly and assembled with care. They are quick and standard cost. Great salsa. The meat quality is great and the tortillas are soft and cooked to perfection. I’ve eaten here 4 days in a week before. Highly recommend.

Went in because I was near by and the name looked cool. Ordered a quesadilla. Pretty simple. I get that there was a little of a language barrier, but I do know some Spanish. What was explained to me sounded clear enough. The menu said that it came with a protein cheese, sour cream, and pico de gallo. If I want to guacamole on the side, it would be a dollar extra I ordered the guacamole, guacamole and sour cream came on the inside which I was told both came on the outside I said I didn’t wanna pay for extra pico de gall, but also didn’t receive the pick that was supposed to come with it in the inside. The . chicken seems pretty small as the guacamole and sour cream seemed to be most of the quesadilla. I also ordered a Diet Coke and pointed to the fountain, but after paying with my credit card she told me the fountain didn’t work and that she didn’t know how to refund the soda part of the transaction. So she gave me $3.28 cash back (the soda was 3.49 plus tax meaning I was owed a little more than $3.75 back but she didn’t understand so I gave up. From talking to her it seems like she understood that she gave me 328 and I was supposed to get 349, but she never went to get me the rest of the change. All in all for a quesadilla and some rice I spent over $20 not counting, though soda I was robbed on. LOL no thanks next time.
