This review is strictly for their taco truck catering. They completely no call/no showed for a booked catering that we paid a down payment for. Extremely unprofessional when all it would have taken was a phone call to notify us in advance if they were not able to make it. It took about a week to get our deposit back after many attempts to contact. No apology or acknowledgment of the mistake they made. I would give them zero stars if I could.

I have never written a review like this (especially as an Elite) because I understand how important it is for small businesses to maintain good reviews. However, I could not ignore my experience with this place. I want to first say that their food IS really good. They have a lot of choices on their menu and it was all super tasty. For the taste of their food alone they deserve 5 stars. However, the unprofessionalism from this company is off the charts. Their owner is very nice (when you can actually get him in the phone) but nice doesn't get you service. I hired them for a private holiday party at my house and confirmed and put a deposit down a month before the event. For a week leading up to the event I called and texted multiple times to confirm my guest count and their services without any response. I was able to get a hold of Francisco on the phone the evening before and he said he would call me right back but never did. The day of the event, I called and texted again to confirm- no response. 2 hours before the event I called in Aladdin's Mediterranean Food (SO good) as my back up and luckily they were able to accommodate my large pick up order. Tacos La Mezcal never showed up to my event, they didn't call or text. I asked Francisco to reimburse me for my deposit and he did so 3 days later (without any reply). It's my belief that they double booked for a party they were probably getting more money for and didn't have the professionalism to admit a mistake. I wouldn't have been happy, but I could have at least made arrangements for other catering. I host between 25-30 events at my location a year and they just lost a lot of returning business. I would NOT recommend hiring Tacos La Mezcla for any private parties if you're looking for a reliable caterer.

This taco truck is delicious. I was hanging out at Thorn St Brewery and decided to give the food a whirl. I had a beef tostada and the barbacoa taco. Both were delicious. I will definitely eat here again. Owner was nice too! You can just tell when people take pride in what they do.

The food truck was just outside Whistlestop today, so it was a no-brainer to go get a few tacos to go with the pints. As was noted by other Yelpers, the gentleman (a.k.a. the charming, sociable "Francisco") made the process of procuring food feel like a cool, laid-back party. The lady at the register was quieter, but very quick to take orders, ferry plates of food, and make the whole process run smoothly (like machinery on plenty of ball bearings). The food smelled heavenly - and was tasty as heck. The tacos were stuffed to the gills with meat (to the point where I had to use special ninja skills to pick up the tacos without spilling meat) and very filling. We had the brisket (corn tortilla), carne asada (corn tortilla), carnitas (corn tortilla), & grilled shrimp (flour tortilla) tacos. My Better Half liked the carnitas the best, while I liked the brisket the best. Like good restaurants, they place the appropriate amount of salsa on the tacos for you (which is for the best - because I tend to douse tacos with too much salsa, until all you taste is salsa). In short, I found them to be a source of good, filling tacos served by likeable people. I hope I run into their food truck often.

The best tacos I've had in North Park! Great company, delicious tacos, fantastic prices. Grab a drink and settle down for filling tacos. Great post workout meal if you are finishing up at the gym next door too ;)

Looking for a good place to snag some west coast tacos & wow; Best tacos I ever had! Visiting from VA, and they didn't disappoint. The guy was also awesome, friendly, and helpful! Swing by if you're ever in San Diego!
Absolutley amazing customer service, he managed to cook food and take orders fast even when it got busy. Even as we sat to eat, the man working asked us (by name too!) how our food was, it was a really great experience. Also bonus for really tasty food, would definitely reccomend coming here.
