Food was amazing. We got the taste of Tahona, which included four course meal a meal and the ingredients were spectacular and high-quality. However, the service was lackluster. We were not checked up on, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else from the menu, which I hope they did because I would have gotten more items from the menu plus drinks.

Discovered this place randomly through the inkind app and must say I was pleasantly surprised. I honestly wasn't expecting such an amazing and creative bar and food menu. The service was also absolutely stellar with both Zach and Madi being incredibly attentive and great feedback on dining options. Given how dedicated they were to providing amazing service I wouldn't be surprised if they were the owners.

The squash blossoms were really really good. The chick and rabbit and venison tacos were delicious and highly recommend.

The tetela mole flight was also a must order if you enjoy mole.

My only request would be to add another vegetarian option for the tacos.

They also have a reservation only speakeasy in the back which will be a must try for my next visit!

The food is sooo good here and the service and atmosphere is 10/10! Every bit was and different and unreal! Zach one of the owners of Tahona is incredible and Jeb, one of the managers and bar tenders is so nice and fun! Maddie the server who helped us was great too! Is a must go to restaurant for top notch mexican food and unbelievable cocktails!

The best Mexican restaurant I have been to in SD. The shallots were the highlight, an amazing explosion of flavors. The menu is not your typical Mexican food but it was interesting. Everything I had was delicious, including the drinks. The service was also great.

We love this place. Such wonderful food, service and reasonable prices. The staff is welcoming and charming. We went two nights in a row for dinner. If we lived in San Diego we would definitely be regulars.

Very good food, but the real stand out was the Amazon mezcal library. Lots of places talk about being a Mezcaleria but Tahona actually delivers not just the selection but the knowledge.

I came back the next day just because I didn't have nearly enough time to go through the 14 pages of the meCal menu.

Thank you as well to Jim (apologies if I'm botching your name) for sharing his passion and knowledge of mezcal.

Wonderful experience. Food is beautifully set up and tastes amazing. The tetela mole flight had such a diverse flavor profile. Drinks are tasteful, very balanced and most importantly affordable for their quality. Im from LA and any time im in San Diego this is a must. You get to enjoy all this while enjoying the lovely views of a historic cementery.

We tried to go and get 1 drink at this speak easy. Logan ask us if he could help me and my fiance. We ask to get a drink said he was not sitting anyone else. Keep in mind the bar closes at 11pm and we got there at 9.

My fiancé had to use the restroom while she was in the restroom Logan then proceeded to sit 3 other men that walked in after us. I asked if they were getting seats. Logan said “they are here before you, keep walking you’re not getting a seat.” Knowing damn well he was playing favorites and just not sitting us because he didn’t know us.

Horrible place don’t go here service is completely awful. Completely flipped my fiancé mood on her birthday.

Amazing place! The food here is not like any other Mexican food restaurant. It has a very nice twist with their food ingredients. I promise you, you'll tey something you havent had at another Mexican restaurant. The prices are not super high like you would think. Overall the place has awesome vibes, great service, and amazing food. Highly recommend.
Ordered the birria tamal, chicken and rabbit al pastor taco, strawberry tres leches dessert, watermelon maragarita, horchata Clara maragarita. Payed $60

The menu was a little lacking, basically just appetizers and tacos. Limited entree selection. 2 of us did the tasting menu but didn't enjoy all of it. Large Mezcal selection if you're into that.

The place wasn’t air-conditioned, so it was quite hot. The food was average overall—some dishes, like the guacamole, were good, while others, such as the beef tostada, were less enjoyable. I’m not sure if a tostada is meant to be served warm or cold, but where I’m from, we don’t usually eat cold beef. That said, the service and atmosphere were decent.

Way too hot in place. Invest in some AC or at minimum some ceiling fans. Food good buttoigh to enjoy when too hit in space.
