This food is simply amazing! If you're debating where to go in Hillcrest, this is THE spot! The quality and flavors are just spot on. I keep coming back time and time again. A must try!!

Food was fine .The service was very reluctantWe went late afternoon there was one other customer than us . No one at the front we had to ring the bell .The atmosphere/ ambience was unupdated old Indian restaurant and smelled so badly I wished I taken the food Togo. Not sure how the people who work there or own the place not realize the smell . It smells like musty old fabric .I made sure to shower as soon as I got home

We walked in for dinner to an empty restaurant at 7 ish on a Sunday evening. Servers don’t care as soon as we walked in they were like you have to order at the kiosk and didn’t want to talk to anyone and just ignored us the whole time. It’s not a restaurant with server service it’s more like take out place and the server won’t even give you water. It was underwhelming to go as it doesn’t say it’s “counter service” on their Yelp or Google profile. We were dining with another family and it was inconvenient and bothersome to have to fetch water and napkins and plates ourselves. I recommend take out and for not dine in.

We got paneer tikka masala, saag paneer and assorted bread basket. Our friends ordered kebabs. Everyone was satisfied with the food.

As someone who is an Indian food connoisseur, I must say that this is some of the best Indian food in all of San Diego! The stews here are unsurpassed, and the accoutrements are unique in their preparation and taste. The Samosa appetizer with garbanzo beans and Indian yogurt was a great start to an excellent meal. This appetizer can be eaten as a meal due to the abundance of spices and portion size of the dish. The Lamb Curry was absolutely heavenly! This dish was loaded with flavors, and the overall preparation was superior to your traditional curry dishes. The Chicken Vindaloo was equally tasty with stewed tomatoes, onions, and large portions of season potatoes. This was a better version of this dish compared to others that I have had from other restaurants in the past. Even the Raita and Keema Naan were unique versions that took this meal to the next level... The Raita had shredded carrots and fresh herbs, while the Keema Naan was full of ground lamb spiced to perfection! I say bravo, Tandoori Hut... You are now my go to for Indian food from now on!

5 out of 5 of a great service, and 10 out 10, or in this case to infinity ♾️ to their delicious food and the drinks, also as a recommendation to this Indian restaurantKid-friendliness: Don't let your kids, be so picky, unless they'll try it and they'll enjoy it, and so as their parents will try it too, as recommended of course.

Dumb people managing the restaurant. My food was taken by another delivery guy. Seems like they're not paying attention. Watch out, who knows what ingredients they're using.

I LOVE LOVE this restaurant. It is so tasty and delicious. I can't eat spicy foods anymore sadly. I developed GERD & have had to cut a lot of things out of my diet. Including spicy so I was so delighted that Tandoori Hut is so wonderful and tasty even when ordering dishes mild. It may not be a FANCY dining environment, still very nice though inside, service is very friendly, good prices, lunch specials and I think buffets (you'll have to ask them, covid changed many things) and the food is some of the best I've ever had. I've been eating Indian food since I was a toddler cause they have so many vegetation options, so I've eaten much Indian cuisine in my life. I'm giving this establishment many thank yous for their craft. Even mild, it's incredible. They have beautiful art on the tables and nice ambiance.

After returning from a trip to London, we were absolutely craving Indian food. In particular though, looking for black daal (or dal makhani). There are very few restaurants in San Diego that serve it but Tandoori Hut is one of them. While the food wasn't quite comparable to the food in London, though we weren't expecting it to be, it still satisfied the craving that we were having. Would typically give 4 stars, but an extra for having the dal makhani. We ordered the butter chicken, dal makhani, alo gobi, plain naan and raita. Butter Chicken- We decided to go medium on this dish and the spice difference was noticeable. Tolerable but definitely not for someone looking for a typical medium. Chicken was cooked tender. Alo Gobi- This is made dry, so it does not have a curry consistency. It was very tasty and I enjoyed it as a vegetarian option! Dal Makhani- Unlike the black daal we'd enjoyed at Dishoom, it had a much more textured consistency. There was a mix of black lentils with what looked like a few kidney or pinto type beans. Great flavor though. Raita- Much needed to keep things cooled down! Pair with some naan. The online ordering platform was easy to use and we'll definitely order again.

Ordered food on 24th dec. Got channa bhature. Bhature was so thicker than 2 naan’s. Should definitely improve the taste. Even non veg didnt taste great. At the end, we enjoyed the white rice given as side with our store bought curd!

So many choices, this place is horrible. The cheese naan was good but the curry was straight up wattery like a sink.
