Ok, I lied on the atmosphere because they should get ten stars for their carne asada tacos and another 20 for the nopal tacos that are the best most authentic I've ever had this side of the border.
Home made tortillas and generous portions are a staple and even the caldo (soup) would make my Mexican mother-in-law happy.

Unique tortillas that is almost crepe like. They have good quality meats. The asada is made of steak cuts and it’s smokey, would highly recommend.

Carnitas (pictured) were very dry/stringy and guac was off. Tossed most of the plate in the trash. Don't think if I've ever done that before in San Diego.
3 stars since I haven't been enough to know if this is a trend.... but doubt I'll be back

Get the El Rey burrito. Top tier. I’d say Michelin level. Generous portions, fresh well-toasted tortillas, tender carne asada, real cheese. The best.

Came here for a quick meal. Got the bean and cheese burrito. The guy making it wasn’t wearing any gloves so already felt like it wasn’t going to be good and clean. The burrito was definitely disappointing for a California burrito. Beans and cheese were just not tasty at all. Tortilla tased great and fresh though. I would pass unless nothing else in the area.

This place makes incredible burritos (and tons of other great Mexican food) in a city of incredible burritos. The al pastor is insanely good, the tortillas are incredible (and I think slightly toasted at some point before being handed to you?), the salsa bar is fantastic, I could go on and on. The avocado salsa verde is especially delicious.

Close to the beach, you can grab a burrito and walk down to Tourmaline in 5-10 minutes.

Long story short, why are you still reading this and not stuffing your face with some of the best burritos in San Diego???

I sort of feel like I have to write this review because I have enjoyed the hashbrown breakfast burrito 5 out of the last 5 days. I'm not bragging about this. But it does speak to the quality and consistency of the burritos. I've had some of the other burritos from here as well, and they are also good. But wow, how easy it is to slide into the routine of those hashbrown breakfast burritos. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. 5/5 days.

The burrito was mediocre, the horchata was not good and not mad in house. Service was decent but not friendly or welcoming.
Burrito 6/10

it's a small place in a little corner mini mall, it's fantastic and they make awesome chicken quesadillas fantastic Carnitas burritos great quality and you really get sizable portions for your money unlike some of the other local spots who have too many employees and charge too much money for less food. However, this place is the complete opposite of those places and has fair prices high-quality and you get a lot of food for what you pay, excellent choice! definitely better than Don Bravo.

Really perplexed right now. I've regularly gotten great food from this restaurant, but just now I threw almost an entire breakfast burrito away. It was packed almost entirelywith beans and had no hashbrowns or bacon, despite being a hashbrown breakfast burrito, which isn't supposed to have any beans even.
