Decent quality sushi. Stick to the basics and you can get out of here for under $30/person. Avoid anything fancy looking, combos, etc. Cool to try all nigiri on Wednesday. Hit/miss on size of nigiri fish slices.

Salmon sashimi was incredible. Sky Dragon roll, Tempura Spicy Tuna roll, and Miso soup were also amazing. Highly recommend!!

We're from out of town, and this is probably some of the best sushi I have ever had. We came back the next day. The atmosphere was pretty chill and has a Pokémon theme. My son and I about craped our pants when we walked into the bathroom, they have fake spiders and bugs coming out of the vent, down the wall. It was funny afterwards lol. The staff is great, friendly and the place it clean.

My wife and I visited on Valentine’s Day. The sushi rolls we ordered tasted very mayo forward, overpowering everything else. In fact, they were overpowered enough that neither of us finished our rolls. The apps were nothing special. We were honestly very surprised that the food wasn’t better given the good reviews. When it came time to pay, I gave my debit card to the server and he took it back to the counter to run it. I got a tap on the shoulder a few minutes later as he asked me to follow him over to the counter to put in my debit card PIN. I thought it was a bit strange that they didn’t run it as credit, but I went with it. He gave me the receipt and said goodbye and thank you. Looking at the receipt, it became clear that I hadn’t been asked to give a tip! I asked him about it, and at first he hesitated, but then he said that they can’t take tips when a debit card was used. I immediately pushed back because a restaurant in the U.S. should always have the option to leave a tip if they take cards.. He quickly asked a coworker, who corrected him. The card had already been run, but his coworker said I could write in the tip value and sign the receipt even though there was no tip, total, or signature space available. I was very skeptical, but I did so… a few days later I verified that the charge did NOT include the tip I wrote in.I wasn’t very impressed with the overall experience. We probably won’t be back.

I was shocked by how high reviews this place has in comparison to what I experienced. We came here on Valentine’s Day night without a reservation, there was a brief wait and we sat at the back of the restaurant. There was an awful smell in the back like actual sewage, it totally killed my appetite. The back area is crowded and really disorganized and gross. Random sauce bottles toppling in view and restaurant supply crap laying all over.Service was bad, no utensils delivered or wasabi until after requested. No plates for appetizers either. The smell was the worst part by far but I was also dissapointed by the disgusting food. I wasted mine. The lava roll was caked in artificial cheap sriracha sauce, the spider roll was so large and falling apart, the karaage was nasty overly greasy and very cheap quality fatty chicken— as well it had no flavor besides grease.I would never come here again.

Stopped in here today as me and my fiancé were in the area and were looking to get some sushi. We decided to give this place a try and we are so glad we did. The quality of the sushi here was far better than we expected when seeing from the outside. The fish was fresh and tasty, the flavors were on point, and most of the all the rice was on point. I feel like a lot of sushi restaurants forget the fundamentals of sushi and having an amazing rice to tie everything together. The rice here was perfectly seasoned and fluffy, and was perfect with every bite. We ended up ordering more than we were originally planning because it was so good.We came midday, so it was essentially empty, but the service was still great. I definitely plan on coming back to try their omakase. Definitely try the namesake temarizushi. Each one was a perfect little bite!Parking: Parking lot kind of sucks. Spot directly in front of shops are designated, all other spots are tiny and tight.

Temari Zushi presents itself as a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a casual vibe and artistic menu options authentic of Japanese cuisine. We were able to stumble upon this quaint eatery just while driving down Rosecrans looking for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was not busy when we walked in, but just as well since there's not much seating/tables anyway. I am so relieved to report that my keen nose did not smell any putrid odors (as reported by other reviewers) during our visit. The servers (all guys at the time) were polite, straight-forward diligent, and attentive. We were hungry from reading the menu and happy that the food came out fast. We went with the Geno Age (fried octopus appetizer), Lava Roll and Walk Through True Love rolls and a variety of lunch specials with teriyaki chicken, salmon, or mixed tempura. Everything was great with exception of the chicken. The meat was inedible, mostly fat with a strange yellow sauce so would not recommend. However, the Geno Age was cooked just right (not chewy). Out of curiosity, I would give this affordable place another hit during happy hour or just to try one of the fancy, temari riceball plates next time.
