Cost as much as a nice sit-down restaurant, but was a total disappointment. Steak was like chewing gum and inedible. Braised beef had pools of grease. Veggies were bland.
I do not recommend at all.

It's a place where you walk up and order your food. I had the salmon salad, which was delicious. We ate outdoors. The indoors seems a little cafeteria-ish, still a great place for a lunch date or hanging out with friends

I eat To Go from this Tender Greens location (Point Loma, Liberty Station) once a week. Today I ordered Salt and Pepper Chicken, dark meat, vegetables and mashed potatoes. The chicken today was very salty, almost like it sat in salt. It was so salty it burned my mouth. The vegetables were mostly burned, black and mostly uneatable.
I paid close to $20 with a discount and a tip. I am very disappointed. I will probably think twice about going here again.

2018-They have changed the Chipotle chicken salad, not as good. Plus, they tried to serve me a brown avocado. No thank you.
8/2022 Another menu change- I eat hear once a year now because the quality of food, cleanliness have declined. Staff here has no idea that the food was once excellent. Today, staff is attentive and thoughtful. I odered the steak plate. The steak is half the portion served in the past, but tasty still. They removed butter lettuce salad option. So, I got a salad that tasted like vinegar and black pepper. It was actually 1 huge leaf that failed getting chopped up. If you like vinegar and pepper, it's ok. But, not nearly as good as the taragon dressing used on the butter lettuce in the past. Instead of mashed potatoes (due to poor flovoring and quality with last visit) I got the fingerling potatoes. They taste fine like salted potatoes, they were cooked well. Better than flavoless mashed potatoes. The bread is fine. The meal was on the small side, I'm 5' and 102lbs. I ate and still could have another side. The staff has improved from last visit. The food is not really improving, flavors are basic, food I can make at home. Smaller serving sizes might not upset me if all tge offerings were dependable in flavor. If my favorites keep getting removed or continue to lose flavor, I may need to cut out this as a yearly hang out.
I'll try it again in 2023 because the staff. Hope the menu reverts to the quality and flavors of 2012 in 2023. Not hopeful. It's a place where the food is ok, nothing special here. Go to Jensens.
11/2023 Chicken Chipotle salad I ordered is missing avocado. They put some on after asking. I returned the next day and ordered the same salad, it literally had one small piece of avocado. The mashed potatoes had flavor. Roasted potatoes cold, straight from the fridge. When I buy roasted potatoes, I would think they're warm. After the strange salad issues, I'll wait a year, if they're still open.
May 2024. This is my last review. It's a birthday dinner. We ordered 2 waters and 2 steak plates. They taste fine, but we were not served water. AND, my husband's meal came with one black fly, mine came with black hairs, more than one. Otherwise, it was lots of black fine wire. Not really sure what is going on, but we were treated kindly by the kind server, not by the female he reported this issue to, she did the typical eye roll and walked away when he reported to her. So, this is the last time we will eat at Tender Greens. We tried, but they now feed us a fly and random black hairs. We are done.

Simple, fresh, healthy, tastes good, and easy. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere and service great always approached with a smile and gratitude. Being from the DC area, we don’t always get that. A little more of a rough crowd on that side, so I appreciated that.
I snagged the Mediterranean salad. Steak was great and it was well portioned with the salad. Not too much, not too little.
