I came here to eat during the weekend, but was told that it was only available to hotel guests. I’d have loved to give them a proper review. Walked here with my family even. Guess I’ll never know.

BED BUGS!!!! I came home covered in bites. Their staff treated me with zero empathy as I sent them photos of my body covered in bites. They comped my room and refused to pay for any dry cleaning fees. When I asked for the report of their "negative" bed bug findings they hung up on me. People who spoke with zero class or hospitality: Noah and Tia Dishonest establishment and FILTHY. Icing on the cake was the dirty Men's underwear left behind in the closet from the previous occupant. They also told me those didn't exist either.
We realized, as we arrived at the Hard Rock Hotel, that the Omni was a far better choice. But our group reservation was at the Hard Rock. Some phone calls were made; Noah, the manager at the Omni was consulted; and everything was sorted out to allow us to upgrade to the Omni. What was amazing? The price (a bit less than Hard Rock, I think) and the pool. But Noah’s kindness ranks even higher. Our stay was a pleasure, and we would be happy to return.
Good quality hotel showing some signs of age. Best factor is it’s location right by the Gaslamp district and Petco Park - fantastic. Found all the staff to be friendly, efficient and helpful. Special mention to Leo the valet who was a great help with a flat tire.
How is this hotel 4 star with 4.5 stars? For the amount of money we paid for a suite, it is definitely not worth it. This hotel is so dated. I still have 2 nights and I just want find another hotel. My husband already tried to find another room but no luck. So I guess we stuck. Just look at the pictures. Does that look like a 4 star hotel to you? I turn the shower on and I see hair! Ugh. I thought Omni is associated with high class. Well this one is definitely not. I wish I can get a refund. What a waste of $$$.
It’s all in the details, and they add up. The Omni has great potential to be a great getaway for the lover in you, except for the little things. My wife and I were super excited for our 5 day/4 night San Diego getaway in the Gaslamp District. (We have had a rough year, already.) We both love a great view of water from a high floor, and that is what I thought I was booking. A “Premier Corner room with Bay view and a Balcony” on the 20th floor. What we received was a a room with a balcony with no chairs, and a rooftop view of a parking garage on one side, and the water at our back. If you sat at the desk or rearranged the furniture you had a bay view. But this was not the full bay view I inquired about, and not as the reservation stated. Also, the balcony was not as enjoyable as anticipated. You could stand out on it, and if you wanted you could bring out a chair, but who wants to move more furniture. “Minor” details. One plus is that the room was spacious, and I did a workout video and their in-room fitness equipment the one day I didn’t visit the gym and had lots of room. (The gym was nice as hotel gyms go, but the yoga mats and in-room equipment need some cleaning and/or switching out for new. Another ding for us was the bathroom. My wife hated the lack of privacy, the bathroom “walls” and doors are not sound proof. Neither are the walls with the headboard; we heard our neighbors all night long. I also noticed that the bathroom was rundown and not well-kept. Chipping paint, cracked slat in the wall decor, and worse-a water faucet with green stuff where the water comes out. (See photos.) We had to use bottled water to brush our teeth and wash our faces. That was a drag, and another little thing. For the price of the room and location, we expected updated and curated. Before we arrived I had flowers delivered to my wife in the hotel and so glad I did, the flowers were a bright light and added something to the ambiance. The room had so much potential; it could have been a better experience. I think it was supposed to be. As for the staff, the concierge was amazing! I spoke to him on the phone before I arrived and we texted while in my departing city, and he was a great help suggesting activities. (They were super fun!) Room service staff were also excellent, even though the food was nothing to write home about. They were kind, thoughtful, and had great customer service. The food- and we had a lunch, a dinner, and a breakfast- was over priced, under seasoned, and even the chicken tenders from the kids menu were dry and underwhelming; clearly frozen/freezer-burned. Stay away if you are looking for a late night snack of a chicken tender or two.) The front desk staff were inconsistently friendly and welcoming. Not everyone received acknowledgment, when they entered the lobby but everyone received service, sometimes very lackluster. However, over the phone the front desk was cheerful, and responsive. Again you hope for more at this price and location. This Omni seems to attract individuals, couples, and families, and we like that. Would I stay here again? Maybe, the location is good and I imagine that the full bay view is beautiful at sunset, but we would need a different room, and we definitely wouldn’t eat here.
Hotel looked nice , hidden fees , overpriced parking. The surrounding area was a tent city. I didn’t research well but not a great experience if you are traveling with family or children. If you don’t have to leave the hotel during your stay then this place will do.
I attended San Diego Comic-Con for all 4 Days. And I just want to mention that the Staff during my attendance was wonderful! The Omni hosted some of the events within the hotel. I was speaking to a kind older woman cleaning the bathrooms. She was mentioning that the hotel takes pride in keeping things clean and she enjoys being part of the team. She spoke Spanish. Thank you, Omni for being part of the comic con event and being so welcoming to all; even those that may not have a room there.
Have been staying at the Omni San Diego for years and normally had good experiences, unfortunately the level of service has dropped significantly. While the location is fantastic and the rooms are generally good, on my most recent stay I was overcharged $1500 after checking out. I contacted the hotel 5 times by phone to resolve this problem and was repeatedly told misinformation and lies. To this point I have simply been told it’s my banks fault and there is nothing the Omni SD can do. Really poor customer service and would caution others planning to stay there
We had tickets to a Padres game and we wanted to stay somewhere close to Petco Park. From the hallway next to our room, we could actually see the fans at the concession stands in the ballpark. So, the location was great. The room was comfortable and very clean. Everybody at the front desk was really helpful and pleasant. I have to only rate the hotel at 4 starts due to a housekeeping request that was not done. I understand that since covid, the housekeeping has been reduced. We were fine with that. All we wanted was 1 day of housekeeping in the middle of our stay. I spoke to the front desk and they said that it would be done that day. It never was. We were disappointed especially since we had put in a request to do it.

Went to see the Mariners and Padres two game series in early June. We had seen many baseball games there in the past but had stayed at different hotels. I will only stay at the Omni now...I'm hooked! The most convenient set up I've ever seen. There's a pedestrian bridge from the fourth floor directly into Petco Park. It's awesome. Our room was nice as were every hotel employee we interacted with. Nice cozy restaurant on site plus big fun in the Gaslamp Quarter just outside the door. We will never stay anywhere else again when go to a ball game in San Diego.
Excellent customer service! We were headed to this hotel from Anaheim and we were 15 minutes away when I realized I had mistakenly set up my reservation for the wrong date! I immediately called customer service and they were able to accommodate us for that night, even a cheaper rate then I originally had and gave us two beautiful rooms with views of the Padre's Stadium! Great service once we arrived at the front desk as well and our porter who helped us with all our luggage was great too! This was last Thursday, June 15th. It was a short stay but we would definitely stay there again! It took five minutes to walk to the game - it was perfect for us.
I had an excellent stay at the Omni. The check-in process was quick and easy. The front desk staff were really helpful and polite. The room had a beautiful view of the harbor and the convention center. Rooms were very clean. The staff would always say hello when I ran into them in the halls and ask how my day was. The front door staff were attentive and kind. Great experience!
Great location, awesome hotel and even better staff. Walking distance to everything on Gaslamp. Our kids liked and my wife and I loved it. The sky bridge to the ball game Friday night was so convenient. Made it easy for us to get to the bathrooms as well lol. Will be back again!
Perfect Petco Park access! We are a huge baseball family and can't believe the access to Petco Park. It was a 30 second walk and a truly amazing experience. The hotel is incredible and the service is top notch. Across the board the staff is so kind and it was kicked off by Mordecai at the front desk. He is Hospitality defined! We also loved our bellman Jasper and Ceci who delivered our room service food. What great staff! Will be back. 5 stars all around!
