I tried this place for the first time today with coworkers and I'm really happy I was invited along. We ordered egg rolls, cream cheese wontons and the Tom Kha for appetizers. Their spice level is 1-10 and the soup was a 3, not very spicy. I wanted to start lower than increase the spice level on my next visit. 3 has some kick and best suited for those who aren't crazy about heat. All three items were great, soup was one of the best ones I've had here in SD. My main dish was the Thai beef salad. Lemon grass marinaded beef over lettuce and mixed with cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, and green onions. It was tossed is a fish sauce based dressing with chili flakes and I got this a 3 spice level. Again, could have done a higher level. Delicious and refreshing! I would ordered this again. I wanted to keep it light on a work day. Next time I dine here I will order a noodle and rice dish. They have reasonable lunch specials from 11-3pm. Must try!

I got the pad thai lunch special - it was a generous portion and they got it out to me so quickly! really good and fresh, it hit the spot, just what I wanted.Parking: When I went there was tons of available spots in the lot behind the restaurant. Maybe 10 open spots.

This is one of the best Thai places I've had in the states. Highly recommend the soups.

Veggie rolls are amazing! Orange chicken was light, authentic, and delicious. Sweet sour chicken was chewy but sauce and vegetables were great. The person taking the order was smirking and laughing at me. So weird!

I've only ever ordered through UberEats, but this is my favorite Thai place. The sweet and sour chicken is amazing!

First time consumer. Ordered chicken Chow Mein, and brown rice. VERY disappointed . No flavor, and very little veggies. Will not revisit.

This is one of my favorite local Thai spots. It's very unassuming from the outside and nestled in between a barbershop and the San Diego sandwich company. Service is quick, fresh ingredients, and I've never had a bad meal since dining here. I've maybe only eaten inside the restaurant once or twice but it was clean and the portions were served family style. When I've ordered take out, the food is always neatly wrapped and its never spilled.

Just got their food for the first time on door dash and I was pretty let down. My two favorite Thai places in town are Bahn Thai and Signature Thai Cuisine and out of the many times I've gotten food from those two places, I've never been disappointed. With that being said, I most likely won't be getting food from Thai Pepper ever again. My wife and I each ordered the red curry and it was extremely watered down and soupy. It had no thickness or creaminess which was strange considering the primary ingredient is coconut milk which in itself has a pretty thick consistency. The spice levels were controlled well which personally I didn't mind because I love spicy food but my wife ordered mild and hers was way too hot. The vegetables such as the bell pepper were a bit chunky and not sliced well. The flavors weren't terrible but also not balanced well-maybe a little heavy on the fish sauce but still had a good flavor. And lastly there wasn't as much chicken as I'd expect for the cost which was a bit annoying considering how easy it would be for them to throw a little more in. I'll just stick to my two other spots next time I'm craving a curry that's done well.

Been wanting to try this neighborhood spot for a while! I ordered the chicken pad thai ($14) and beef pad see ew ($15) online for takeout. The portions are large and the food is yummy! Will for sure order from here again :)
