Every time we've eaten here the food was disgusting. We do not recommend this restaurant!

The Yolk is not all that is broken at this poorly executed attempt at a fresh California perspective on brunch. Our waitstaff was primarily interested in getting us in and out as quickly as possible despite a half empty restaurant. The chicken that accompanied my waffle died in vain, it was tuff and horribly fried in last months oil. My waffle only had one hair on it which I consider a blessing in lieu of the general lack of cleanliness at our table. My friend was gravely disappointed in his "biscuits" and "gravy" which resembled something more akin to stale bread covered in bland glue. Please save your pesos and eat something real somewhere else.

My large extended family and I recently had a reunion. At the end of the trip, twenty of us really wanted to go out for a final breakfast together, but it was St. Patrick's Day, we all had flights to catch, time was tight and we hadn't made breakfast reservations. We called Broken Yolk, not really thinking we had any chance to get in, and we were informed that they could accommodate us on their patio. Fifteen minutes later, all twenty adults and children were seated on their patio, and we were surrounded by helpful, friendly wait staff who took our orders, and then delivered beautiful, delicious food in record time. They came back to refill drinks, to see if we had everything we needed, and we were able to have our last meal together and make it to the airport on time. I was impressed. Kudos and our thanks to the cooks and wait staff at the Carmel Mountain Broken Yolk.

Food was great ,didn't appreciate the close to $ 5.00 service charge on a $ 23.00 dollar bill, plus another $4.85 service fee on top of the bill per person because there were 12 people at our table and some of them just had coffee for breakfast Sadly I won't be coming back because of the excessive fee'

Great food and service. People at the front were rude and didn’t give us much attention when we tried talking to them, so I take one star off for “Atmosphere” rating. Aside from that, we had a good time.
