Presentation was excellent, but the overall good quality was "just OK". My lobster bisque was watery and had no lobster, the corn had no flavor and the bacon was raw. We had the bread presentation and that was great, my bone in ribeye was very good, but my wife's fish was just OK.
Food was terrible!! Like I would never recommend to anyone. Service was good and had a nice server tho
We really enjoyed the great service along with excellent dry age steaks, but the Lamb lollipops were amazing. Great place to splurge a bit.
The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. 👌
Great experience for a date night. Food and ambience were totally aligned with my expectation.
The manager and servers had the most abundant about of cologne that it was gagging and interrupted our meal and the scents mixed with the food scents. In addition, the steak and potatoes came out lukewarm.
Recomendado !
Great time celebrating my son's 21 birthday! Food was great and Jenny our waitress was amazing!
Sooooooo delicious! Wish I remembered our servers name but she was fantastic! Zero complaints
Ordered for takeout!! The seafood linguine was delicious. Steak on the other hand was not flavorful at all. Cooked correctly, but missing the flavor and considering it was a restaurant around beef cuts…. Seafood was better!

Great service and even more delicious food!! Happy hour menu is generous and plentiful, great hours too! The raw oysters, ceviche, lamb chop lollipops, sirloin and filet minion were great choices. They dry age their meats in house and the ambience and decor is nice!
The staff Francesco and Manuela were extremely gracious helping celebrate my husband’s birthday! Will definitely be back again! Great location in gaslamp too!!!

The steaks were ok; but not wonderful. Unless you are in the area; I would investigate other options.

I will never partake in SD Restaurant Week again, nor will I ever be seen at the Butcher's Cut ever again. Full disclosure, I don't believe in putting local businesses on blast for the internet to see. Instead, I had originally emailed this restaurant with my concerns, but they never took the time to respond, even after I sent a follow-up email. I had a reservation Sat., 9/28 after finding them on San Diego Restaurant Week’s website. My boyfriend was extremely excited to indulge in a steak dinner, so after much consideration, I chose the Butcher's Cut out of all the other steakhouses on the list. Going out to dinner is not often for us, we indulge ourselves in a restaurant like this once every two or three months. I mean... who can afford it in this economy?? To say we were excited is an understatement. I ordered the option 1: meatballs, pappardelle pasta and chocolate cake. My boyfriend ordered option 2: crab cake, filet mignon and cannoli. We unfortunately had to send my meatballs back not once, but twice because they were cold in the center. The first time we were understanding, but when they were still cold the second time, we asked to not bother bringing more out. The boy requested his filet medium rare. He had to send it back two more times for the chef to cook it more as it was basically raw on the inside. We were very respectful as we did not want to cause a scene or embarrass our server, who did a terrific job and was very apologetic. We repeatedly said we know it’s not her fault. She was kind enough to bring us a free espresso martini for our troubles, which we were very thankful for, but we were a bit perturbed to see that we paid full price for our meal. We paid our bill in full and went on our way, again, as to not cause a scene or embarrass their staff as there were others dining very close beside us. We understand the restaurant industry in San Diego is tough and we love supporting local businesses, but we are filled with disappointment by our experience, more so by having paid $180 (dinner and parking) for food we had to send back twice. I hope this place makes a turnaround.

The food is subpar for sure, the chicken was very dry under seasoned. The service was not much better. When getting the check we asked for a box for the leftover food and was told there were no boxes. Then there were apparently boxes when we saw another table get one. Would not recommend, unfortunately.
