Small place with a good burger. Wasn't too busy when I went around lunch time. The service was fast and the burger was good.

It says the place closes at 10 PM, so I showed up at 9:30. But the guy told me they wouldn’t serve me. How does that make any sense? If you stop serving at 9:30, then list that as the closing time, so people don’t waste 20 miles driving for nothing.

Really greasy burgers with hamburger, grilled onions and bun. When they say NO Modifications they mean it. Staff was not particularly helpful or friendly. Bare bones restaurant with maybe 4 or 5 tiny tables. Honestly there are so many fabulous restaurants on Convoy I don't know how they stay in business.

I love The Friendly because their food is delicious! Dirty OG flattop is perfect...smashed patties, cheese, and aioli sauce equals perfection. The burgers are small, so I always buy two. The other burgers are bomb, too! Can't go wrong here.

Good burger but not as good as the nort park location. It was extra greasy and the parking lot is one of the worst.

I ordered the OG burger paired with root beer. “Chefs kiss” A simple burger done perfectly. Onion not too onion-y. not too greasy at the bottom. Fries crispy. Sometimes a simple burger is all you need. No fluff.

Probably one of the best smash burgers in SD. Parking is bad during busy times but that’s just Convoy.

If you want a fantastic smash burger then this is your place. Every time I'm in San Diego I have to have a Friendly smash burger.

It wasn't bad. However, for all the hype I'd heard about this place, it was disappointing. My wife has the fish sandwich which was. Well. Fishy and not in a good way. My burger was super salty. While we were there the staff was blasting very loud music that was full of profanity. I don't mind profanity but I did wind up having to explain a couple of things to my daughter I wasn't really happy about. I might try another location but I won't be back to this one.

I was so excited to try this place but it was a disappointment. First of all, parking sucks. The restaurant it selfish isn’t anything special. There were hardly any customers. The cook and the girl at the register were looking at their phones the whole time. Sign of the times I guess but the food was so salty. I ordered the McDee’s wannabe Filet-o-fish and onion rings. Anything fried is generally edible and I was hungry so I finished it but wth is up with the salt content?? It was beyond salty. No thanks to a return.

I was looking for good smash burgers, and this hit the spot. I had the OG and the French dip. I thoroughly enjoyed them both. The French dip is genius. I love onions and this felt like a fusion of everything I love about smash burgers and French onion soup.

Not kid friendly at all. Very inappropriate music and language. Food is decent but atmosphere makes me want to go elsewhere. Still no customization and pretty rude attitude.

Don’t walk past this spot. The atmosphere is so outdated. Looked like I walked into an old restaurant from the 60s. There’s a reason for that because you want to focus on the food. 🍔

The Hamburgers here were absolutely delicious. Probably the best smashed burger I have ever ate. I tried a famous spot in LA and this beats that!!! I had the French Onion Dip burger and had the OG Dirty Flattop burger. I can’t choose between which one was the best. They both had their unique taste. I would definitely come by again. I live 2 hours away and I would make the drive just to have a smash burger from this spot.
