Got there early on the night before Thanksgiving and had our pick of booths which was great. Drinks were perfect, service was great and did was delicious. Restaurant was full by the time we left. Great restaurant!

The most excellent and enjoyable Italian food! It is expensive, but remember you get what you pay for. In my humble opinion it is well worth the expense.

An excellent restaurant for a date. The food was delicious, and the wine list was excellent.

First timers and reallly enjoyed our dinner. Pasta and sauces were excellent. Fish was tasty and portions plenty. Would recommend. Good place for a birthday celebration.

I had a reservation to sit at a table first we were waiting for 30 min they did offer us some wine for waiting which is not what we drink and thanked them for that but then we were sat at table on the side of the restaurant which was part of the bar the bar tender was the one taking our order which he was nice but wasn't happy with where I was sat.

We went here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place to have a special occasion. They gave us a nicely private booth, and the ambiance was really relaxed.

Everything we tried was fantastic, with the swordfish being the standout. We made a reservation for an early dinner and it was empty when we arrived, but later in the evening it was packed, so it may get busier later in the evenings.

Love the atmosphere. So cozy. Real piano being played. The food was okay. The ravioli and fettuccine alfredo were kind of bland. Nothing special. The bruschetta was great. The steak was high quality and cooked inside nicely but dry on the outside

We've eaten at The Godfather many times and the service and food have been excellent. Tonight we were very disappointed. The meat ball appetizer was lukewarm, the iced tea tasted old and bitter, the chocolate cake was old and falling apart on the plate, and the fried zucchini was cold and there were only 10 on the plate. We overheard the bartender telling another table that they had run out of the lobster ravioli special....it was only 5:30 pm. If it had been our first time dining, we would never return. Perhaps we won't anyway....

We've been going to The Godfather for decades and we still love it (though we miss Anthony since he retired). Still get our favorites there almost every time (Filet alla Godfather and Spaghetti Bolognese). Had a reservation for a booth for our anniversary and that was accommodated as well. Only complaint I would give is they really have no reason/justification for Valet service on the weekends... there were so many open parking spots and its just seems silly to have to pay for valet to eat there (valet isn't expensive, but they literally just drive 15 ft and park your car in an open spot).

Atmosphere, service and food are excellent! Very authentic feel and food. I was in the area for work and wanted an fine Italian food experience. Not having formal wear,I was a bit reluctant to dine here but I was greeted with the best service and felt welcome. You can enjoy the experience dressed causal or formal. Coming from an Italian family, the food is exceptional and the prices are very fair. You will not be disappointed,

A small, quiet gem in Clairemont. Great Italian food, good service, and an atmosphere you would expect from a place named The Godfather!

We have eaten here for many years. We were quite concerned when the restaurant ownership changed a few years ago and feared it might follow others where new ownership meant changes to the menu. We were pleasantly surprised having dined several times after the change, that the cuisine seemed to have remained the same, that is until last night. We each ordered pasta dishes, one with salmon the other a mix of sausage and artichokes. Both were very dry, little or no sauce, bland to the taste and lukewarm, very disappointed. Restaurants can have a bad night, so we hope this was just that. We will try again, hoping for the best.
